When hiring an outside designer for your projects, always request the design files as part of your deliverables, and save them in properly-labeled folders. It's common practice and acceptable to request design files - even if you don't know what an .eps, .ai or .indd file is, the next designer you hire will be grateful to have it, and it'll make their job faster and easier.

I got my start in marketing and communications as a Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Georgia magazine major at the University of Georgia many years ago, and although I've been able to put my skills to use on all kinds of marketing projects since then, managing the planning, design and distribution of publications is still one of my favorite projects to work on.

to where my love of photography began in a class during high school - getting to develop photos in the darkroom was an experience I still remember vividly. I loved it so much that I worked with my college Student Government Association to get a photography class added to the curriculum while I was at , and now I mostly enjoy taking photos on my iPhone. Technology has come a long way since this photo was taken!

In addition to consulting, I run Vinetta with my husband, Joel, where we offer food pop-ups, private dinners and small caterings. While working at Giving Kitchen, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Nichole Vine at SurveyMonkey to assist her in writing a case study about using their services to support GK clients as well as producing a video about our partnership. I even got to attend an interactive customer summit at SurveyMonkey's headquarters in Ontario in the fall of 2018 along with a co-worker and several other nonprofits and universities across the country, which is still such a fond memory. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I was born and raised in Georgia and have lived in the state all my life. Georgia may be my home base, but from small towns to big cities and from the mountains to the ocean, I’m happiest when I can explore the world. Visiting new places, eating new cuisines and immersing myself in different cultures reminds me not only of who I am at the core, but it also reminds me to bring curiosity, empathy and compassion to people I meet who have different backgrounds and world views. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
