Happy New Year ✨ swipe for a card storage hack 📬

We sent New Years cards this year and it keeps with my theme of 2022, which was running behind. Actually worked out well so keep that idea in your back pocket if you are ever feeling stressed about holiday cards not arrived before Christmas.

Now, what do we do with all those pretty cards your friends and family painstakingly took family photos for, paid for cards and postage and so thoughtfully included you on their list!

💌 This diy is SO easy. All you need is a hole punch + index ring (or ribbon). Put your kids to work operating the hole punch (Georgia is a big fan) and viola all your cards for the year are stored in a neat little yearbook.

📦 I store our booklets with Christmas decorations so we can pull them out each year and look back at how much everyone has grown.

Politics, soda and the Elf… the things that divide us! 🙃

I know the Elf can cause some parents to get a little spicy so I'm not trying to poke the bear here. This is our first year with an elf at our home and I hate to break the internet with this news but after almost a month of moving Elfie… in my humble/first timer opinion, it’s really not that big of a commitment.

Having an Elf is like decorating a gingerbread house. Your gingerbread house can be elaborate or minimal, it’s really up to you and your family how you decorate a gingerbread house. Or the way you incorporate an elf into your holiday traditions.

The joy my 4 year old has each morning checking on our elf has converted me. It’s not about Pinterest or what another kid is doing, do it bc your child wants it and if/will enjoy it. If they don’t enjoy it then you tried and your family can move on. I know there are a lot of “we don’t do the elf” families and that’s totally ok. I wasn’t for it or against it really but my daughter likes it so much and it has been fun to hide and plan with my husband. Even if it’s only 5 minutes of our time after the kids are asleep. At least we are doing it together and it’s a little inside joke. This might sound silly but try to reframe… you get the opportunity to bring that little bit of joy instead of “one more thing to do”.
