CONGRATULATIONS Dr. Dean Drake whom I now refer to as D3, as my best friend and husband, no one is more proud of you for the work and accomplishments you have made over the years and to see you realize your visions and dreams of educating, supporting and lifting up our young people. These two great organizations, Bethune Cookman University - BCU and Leadership, Education and Development - LEAD have a great man at the helm who by the grace of God will do GREAT things for them. As I tell you often, YOU ARE A PHENOMENAL MAN!!!

In todays time we need leaders and people whose focus is on giving HOPE - which stands for Helping Other People Excel. I will be sharing messages to inspire and give HOPE over the next few weeks, I hope you enjoy them and they encourage you to give HOPE to someone each and every day. Add it to your calendar and your To Do Lists, it will be the most productive thing you do for the day.

I wear a mask in public, not for me, but for YOU. I want you to know that I am educated enough to know that I could be asymptomatic and still give you the virus. No, I don’t “live in fear” of the virus, I just want to be a part of the solution, not the problem. I don’t feel like the “government is controlling me”, I feel like I’m being a contributing adult to society and I want to teach others the same. The world doesn’t revolve around me. It’s not all about me and my comfort. If we all could live with other people's consideration in mind, this whole world would be a much better place. Wearing a mask doesn’t make me weak, scared, stupid or even “controlled”, it makes me considerate. When you think about how you look, or how uncomfortable it is or what others think of you, just imagine someone close to you. A father, a mother, grandparent, Aunt or uncle choking on a respirator. Then ask yourself if you could have sucked it up a little for them.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT ....
I thought it would be interesting to start a blog or send messages about those things that make you go hmmmm!! and leave you feeling like, now THATS SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT". To ponder on, to reflect on. Perhaps you've had those moments when an idea or thought came to your mind and you wondered if anyone else has had this thought. So here is a "SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT" THOUGHT.

You meet someone who says they hate their job and they've been working at the same place for 10 years and every time they put in for a promotion they don't get the job but are told, "you do great work, but someone else had a little more so we went with them." After hearing that so many times why would someone with great talent stay with that company for so long, why have they not accepted the REAL message - "they don't want you there but are afraid to tell you so they give you a bogus excuse for why they won't promote you with hopes you will take the hint and leave, instead the person stays there wasting their talent with a company that does not appreciate them or value their contribution. Why would this person not just leave and go to one of the other hundred or so other companies that are out there - but instead choose to stay and complain. I mean really - why?? I know that's none of you but it is SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT!

Did you know if you can change your thoughts you can change your life. Another way to think about this is if you can change how you think you can change how you behave. Ok so here's one more, if you change your thinking, you can change how you feel. Whats the message here - pay attention to your thoughts and how they make you feel and act. Dont want to feel bad anymore then check your thoughts. Think on positive, uplifting things and watch your feelings change to make you feel better. You have all control over your thoughts, you just have to learn how to control and use them. SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT ....

Almost there, a few hours to go and we can say "WE SURVIVED 2020." A year of challenges, way too many deaths, illnesses, political craziness but we choose to focus on the good, like the new and strong client partnerships we took on with so many incredible organizations, stretching our skills by learning to effectively train and coach on line versus face to face, redesigning our website and back office support to get ready for 2021. But what we have enjoyed the most is using this time to grow ourselves as a Coach, Trainer, Business Owner, Client, and Relationship Builder. Being a life-long learner is part of living, growing and developing skills, abilities and growth mindsets. We made time to learn to ensure we are at our best and can deliver the best, customized, most exclusive service to all our clients and partners.
Thank you to all of you, our partners and clients and we look forward to working with you in 2021 and putting all we've learned into practice for you. Stay safe and blessing to you and your family. HAVE A HAPPY & SAFE 2021.

This year instead of creating a New Years list make a "Design YOUR New Normal."
We've all been asking what will the new normal be. I think we design it and we do it with our mind, our thoughts, our words our actions, and our prayers. Don't sit around waiting for someone else or the government to determine this, we each must do it. So tell me what would you like the "New Normal" to be?
