What I did notice that it seems like a one off like phrased as a miracle to receive the support you request in hospitals for birth.
I’m glad it went smoothly 🎉🤰🏿
I just wish the standard of treatment was putting the mother /pregnant person decision first!

Wow, just want to reflect on my learning so far when I first started the Birthworker and Doula Business I thought there’s so many people were getting things that they didn’t want ……

then I realize with my own eyes and ears,  that people are actively choosing not to be informed on the process
like we go out of our way to make sure we have the best baby showers.
We go out of our way to make sure we have the best gender reveal‘s
we don’t go out of our way to make sure that our babies have the most peaceful, pleasant birth
we don’t go out of their way to make sure that we’re protected and everything we want we receive.
We don’t go out of our way to give our child, the best most peaceful start life.
It’s easy to rely on a system that was already set up. It is hard to do your own research and make your own choices.
The sad reality is that if we actually as the consumers all did our own research, supported each other, and all of our small businesses, we could shut the system down!!! every time I say something like that every time I tell us that education is our key to freedom I’m the one that gets silenced by the social media gods

The level of commitment and protection of these babies being birth into this world is awe inspiring! I’m in a group and this family is going through martial issues this is there 3rd child. The mom wanted a Homebirth and was going to get one to by ANY Means to keep her and her baby safe.
She gave birth at home alone.
She’s not Black so her threat of the hospital isn’t as dangerous but she knew there was still danger with birthing in the system. She had pre-copious labor that only lasted 40 minutes. She had meconium stain waters so she waited until her body push the baby out. She didn’t have anything on hand so she suction the baby out with her mouth on the babies, mouth and nose to get all of the mucus out of the baby and the baby pinker up right away and was breathing well, I need families to know that there are other safer options.
They won’t tell you that you can be super intense but super short labor If you don’t receive a lot of the interventions that they put in place to slow down labor
I am encouraging families to read get yourself educated if you cannot, or do not want to support for the process, you support yourself !!!

if we start birthing, I’ll babies out of the system it will fall. The healthcare system is predicated on our ignorance. The pediatric system is predicated on our ignorance. That is not a wellness check for the baby. That is a vaccination check up and if that is your route for your little,I’m all for that, but we have to stop being told lies, and we have to start advocating.
Most pediatricians are not lactation certified, or educated, or even have a breast fed chart for weight for babies. They also do not have homebirth knowledge so when you’re going to those type of doctors, make sure your vetting them being a parent is not about carrying the baby in your body and listening to everybody else. It is about at the start of that journey, educating yourself and making decisions based on what you feel is right for your family, because ultimately no matter what place of service you walk into you still have to consent to everything.
