🚨 NEW UPDATE: Yellow Fever Vaccine Requirement for Travelers 🚨
Costa Rican health authorities have announced a critical update regarding Yellow Fever vaccination requirements effective from May 11, 2025.
🌎 Travelers, irrespective of nationality, journeying to or from the following American countries MUST provide vaccination proof:
- BOLIVIA
- BRAZIL
- COLOMBIA
- ECUADOR
- GUYANA
- FRENCH GUIANA
- PARAGUAY
- PERU
- SURINAME
- VENEZUELA
- TRINIDAD & TOBAGO
🌍 Additional countries in Africa are also included.
Key Points:
🔑 The vaccine is a one-time dose available at private pharmacies.
🔑 Post-vaccination, travelers must secure an official certificate.
🔑 Exceptions exist for infants under 9 months, individuals with severe egg allergies, immune conditions, and those with medical contraindications.
🔑 Travel agencies, airlines, and tour operators must validate vaccination proof pre-ticket purchase and boarding.
The mandatory enforcement date is now May 11, 2025, with the Ministry of Health strongly advocating for proactive vaccination.
