Several of our staff enjoyed attending the Southeastern Conference for Historic Site Archaeology (SECHSA) in Chapel Hill last month. Lab Director Jeff Sherard presented two papers, first during the Colonoware workshop with "MNV and Residential Interaction: Exploring Inland Lowcountry Plantation Complexes Through a Ranked Index Approach." The following day he presented a paper in collaboration with Senior Archaeologist Dave Baluha called "Links Between Colonoware and Structures in the Inland Lowcountry: Investigations into the Material Culture at Bedon Plantation at Beech Hill, 38DR408." Lab Tech Kathleen Aller attended and Field Tech Ty Hood presented their poster "Disturbances in the Lowcountry: Exploring Means of Production, Past and Present of the Cornerstone Tract." Thanks to the organizers for making it a great conference!
