There have been moments in my own life where I thought I had to carry everything alone — responsibilities, grief, the pressure to show up perfectly. It wasn’t until I let someone in — a friend, a therapist, my community — that I realized asking for help is not a weakness. It’s one of the most courageous things we can do.
This Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, I’m reminded that while individual resilience is important, none of us are meant to do this life thing by ourselves. Support can look like therapy, calling a friend, or even reaching out to a resource like 988 when things feel unbearable.
If you’re reading this and carrying something heavy, know this: you don’t have to hold it alone. And if you’re in a place of strength, consider being that safe space for someone else. We resist despair when we resist isolation — together.
Who can you check in on today? Or, if you’re the one in need, what’s one step you can take to reach out? 🧡
