Happy International Women’s Day!
Today I’m thinking about a moment in time that expanded my soul.
In 2023, I traveled to India with more than 30 women from around the world. Some were dear friends, others were friends of friends, and many were women I had never met before that journey.
Yet somehow, in a very short time, we became deeply connected.
We walked through nature together.
We shared thoughtful conversations about life, purpose, and possibility.
We learned something new every single day simply by experiencing the world together.
What started as an adventure became a profound reminder of the power of women gathering.
This year we had planned to convene again. But life had other plans. Our host had to do what so many women across the world quietly do every day: step away from plans, leadership, and personal pursuits to care for an aging parent.
And that moment reminded me of something powerful.
Women hold the world together in ways that are often unseen.
We build community.
We nurture families.
We lead organizations.
We care for elders.
We hold hope during uncertain times.
When I reflect on that journey to India, I’m reminded that women everywhere, across cultures, countries, and generations, contribute something essential to our humanity.
Especially in times like these, when the world can feel unsettled, I pause to honor the women who continue to show up with strength, compassion, wisdom, and courage.
To the women I walked beside in India, and to women everywhere, thank you for the ways you expand the world.
