Hummingbird is proud to lead the community engagement efforts for the Chatham County Resilience Program, a forward-thinking initiative shaping the future of electric vehicle infrastructure and sustainability in coastal Georgia. ⚡🌊

Over the past six months, Chatham County has been collecting data and insights to create a more sustainable, resilient future — and now, community voices are driving the next phase.

Hummingbird joined Chatham County officials, Savannah leaders, and local residents for a visioning session that invited JCB and Hyundai employees, business owners, and EV drivers to share how they move, work, and connect across the region.

Participants mapped their daily routes, identified opportunities for EV charging stations, and offered feedback on how to make transportation more accessible and resilient for all. 🚗🔌

Community insight is essential to shaping the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure, Deployment, and Training Plan — a roadmap for a cleaner, connected, and more equitable future for Chatham County.

We’re excited to share that the Tara Boulevard Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) Study — where Hummingbird led the community engagement process — has been honored with the 2025 GA ASLA Merit Award in Analysis and Planning by the Georgia Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects! 🌿✨

This visionary plan reimagines an 11-mile corridor in Clayton County, Georgia, as a vibrant civic spine that prioritizes mobility, equity, and public life.

💻✨ Hummingbird at the Inspiredu Digital Summit!

We had the privilege of joining changemakers from across the region for the Inspiredu Digital Summit, a two-day event inspired by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and focused on actionable steps toward digital equity.

Our presentation, “Equity by Design: Making Digital Tools Inclusive, Accessible, and Community-Driven,” explored how community connection and accessibility go hand-in-hand.

We shared lessons from our work on Climate Resilient ATL, where community members engaged through multiple formats — from QR-code surveys to verbal and written input — proving that digital equity doesn’t mean digital-only.

Together, we can ensure every voice has a place in the conversation — online and offline. 💬🌎

Hummingbird has been fortunate to support several electric vehicle (EV) initiatives—an exciting space that sits at the intersection of our transportation, energy, and environmental work.

One such project is Chatham County’s Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Planning and Training initiative.

On Tuesday, October 28, Chatham County will host its first Public Drop-In Community Visioning Session for the project at Savannah Technical College. Community members are invited to drop in anytime between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM to share input and learn more about this important effort.

The new Harbor Bridge is open to the public! It replaced the aging original Harbor Bridge and features the longest concrete segmental cable-stayed span in North America.

Starting August 4, 2025, the Chicago Avenue Bridge enters a critical phase of reconstruction aimed at improving safety and connectivity.

Halsted Street will be fully closed in both directions:
-Northbound Detour: Grand Ave → Orleans St → Division St → Halsted
- Southbound Detour: Division St → LaSalle Dr → Grand Ave → Halsted

Chicago Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction through October 2025, with a full closure to follow.

This vital infrastructure project is more than traffic redirection. It’s an investment in safety, mobility, and resilience.
