I am guilty.

For years, I mainly prayed over my business when things felt out of my control. I praised God for the wins, the opportunities, the increase, but I rarely sought Him in the daily decisions, the problem solving, the strategy. Those were my responsibilities.

This year, disruption has shaken our industry (and so many others). The uncertainty has been sobering. And once again, I found myself only asking God to show up in the gray areas instead of surrendering EVERYTHING to Him.

But God is stretching me. He is asking me to grow in the places I did not realize I was weak. To sit still when I want to hustle. To trust Him when I want to over-plan. To let Him be the leader of all things.

I have been digging into scripture to guide my business, strengthen my faith and make my path impenetrable. These are verses I am meditating on daily, and I want to share them with you.

Owning a business is not for the faint of heart, but it is for those called by God’s purpose. He did not bring you this far to leave you. Let’s weather this storm by leading with our faith.

We are grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of this very special documentary. Our team had the honor of developing a social impact initiative to complement the release of ’s doc . A special THANK YOU to for being an amazing partner at to help fulfill the vision of leveraging the Reels family’s story to educate and inspire communities about the history and prevalence of Black land theft in our country.

The initiative kicked off with the launch of the Silver Dollar Road microsite - which features a digital course and resource center. Subsequently, we led a 10-city screening tour where the film was screened at iconic institutions at the epicenter of Black culture.

Every move I make, my babygirl is watching. She’s living a life without limits, not because “we got it like that,” but I’m being intentional about encouraging her to dream her biggest dreams. But this girl is her ancestors’ wildest dreams and I’m a vessel to uplift her, guide her and support her along the way. My little is my motivation. She’s the reason behind all my moves. I’m striving to be great so she can be GREATER. What does legacy mean to you? Who is inheriting your good works?

Life has taught me that abundance doesn’t come simply from belief and hard work, it comes from an open hand and an open heart. Give freely and often.
