The cold months are here, so be proactive in caring for your instrument to prevent cracks and further damage! ❄️

Here are some simple ways to clean your mouthpiece:
1️⃣ Peroxide & Water: Soak your mouthpiece in peroxide (I like to add a little water to dilute, but it’s optional). Rinse and repeat until the foam disappears.
2️⃣ Water & Dish Soap: Use lukewarm water with a bit of soap. Avoid scrubbing with anything abrasive to protect your mouthpiece.
3️⃣ Lemon Juice: A natural cleaning method! Soak for a few minutes, rinse, and wipe away any debris.
4️⃣ Alcohol: For quick cleanups between deep cleans, alcohol helps remove excess debris when you’re on the go.

🤨Does anyone else agree? When I first started learning instrument repair I assumed flute would be easy, because it’s cute, right?! Absolutely not! Flute repair is very detailed and meticulous. Bassoon always looks daunting because, let’s face it, we all are a little intimidated by the looks. In reality, the bassoon is pretty straightforward. As a clarinetist, clarinet is relatively simple for me. Oboe…😳while it isn’t necessarily difficult, it requires such detail and focus to repair.
