The job market isn’t as different from the vineyard as we might think.

The landowner hired some workers early, others later, even those who hadn’t positioned themselves well at the start of the day. Yet when evening came, all received the same pay.

Those who had worked longest grumbled.
But the landowner replied:
“Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?”

Hiring today works the same. Employers decide who, when, and how.

And yes, it can sting to see someone chosen who arrived “late,” unpolished, or not as prepared. Many job seekers today know that feeling. But grumbling doesn’t change outcomes.

The only thing you truly control is showing up ready and being in position when the call comes. Because the one who gets the role is often simply the one standing where opportunity meets timing.

So be careful not to echo the crowd caught in comparison. Stay true to your purpose, your vision, your desired outcome. Show up as the person you’ve committed to becoming. That’s what makes you visible to those searching for someone like you.

The vineyard is always looking for workers. And the call may come at any hour.
