Here's a hot take:

Your meeting agenda is one of the clearest indicators of your organizational culture.

If every meeting is packed with updates and leaves no room for reflection or learning through collaboration, your team notices, and your culture follows.

The way you spend time is the clearest expression of what you value.

💬 What's one thing you'd change about your team's meetings?

Today, we celebrate Whitney Houston, not only as one of the greatest voices of all time, but as a leader who refused to compromise her authenticity.

Whitney's words remind us that leadership isn't about following someone else's path. It's about having the courage to define success on your own terms, even when the outcome is uncertain.

At CSWS Consulting, we believe the strongest leaders don't imitate, they inspire by leading with purposeful integrity and authenticity.

As we honor Whitney on her birthday, we're inviting you to reflect alongside us.
👉 What's one way you're choosing to lead as your authentic self?

What does leadership look like when no one is watching?

For our Founder & Co-Founder, Gregory Allan Datu Cendana, it looked like early morning runs in eight cities, honoring a commitment to himself while traveling for work, long before crossing the finish line at the world's largest 10K.

His Substack essay reminds us that leadership isn't just about how we show up for others, it's about how we lead ourselves. The discipline to keep going, the courage to quiet self-doubt, and the commitment to follow through, even when the conditions aren't ideal.

As Gregory writes: "How you run yourself is how you lead. Every time."

That philosophy is at the heart of the work we do every day at CSWS Consulting; helping leaders build the internal practices that shape how they lead not only themselves, but also their teams, organizations, and movements.

Take a few minutes to read Gregory's latest reflection, and if it resonates with you, share it with someone who's in the middle of their own leadership journey. Sometimes the encouragement we need is simply knowing someone else kept showing up.

What if the biggest conference isn’t actually delivering the biggest impact?

For years, we’ve measured success by attendance numbers and packed agendas. But what if we’ve been asking the wrong questions?
In this essay, Gregory Allan Datu Cendana challenges us to rethink the traditional conference model and imagine gatherings that prioritize connection over crowds and belonging over busyness.

Whether you’re a leader, event organizer, facilitator, or someone who believes convening has the power to create change, this piece offers a compelling vision for what our gatherings could become.

The future of convening isn’t about doing more; it’s about creating spaces where people leave feeling inspired and ready to act.

Can we be honest for a second?

A lot of people think confident leaders are the loudest people in the room. But that's rarely true.

Real confidence isn't about having all the answers or pretending you've got everything figured out. It's about being willing to make the tough call, ask the hard question, admit when you're wrong, and keep showing up, even when things feel uncertain.

People don't follow perfection. They follow leaders who are authentic, steady, and willing to grow.

💬 Let's talk about it:
What's one thing that helps you lead with confidence, even when you're feeling unsure?

Do you agree?

Tell us in the comments. ⬇️

Not every meeting needs to happen.

Strong leaders know that protecting their team's time is just as important as bringing people together. Sometimes the best decision isn't adding another meeting to the calendar; it's canceling it, sending a clear update, or giving people uninterrupted time to focus on the work that matters most.

Effective leadership isn't measured by how many meetings you schedule. It's measured by the value you create for your team.

What's your take? Are canceled meetings a sign of thoughtful leadership or poor planning? Share your perspective below.

What if the key to stronger relationships is the same thing that makes great leaders?

Whether you're building a team or building a life with someone, healthy relationships don't thrive on autopilot. They require curiosity through communication, and the courage to question habits that no longer serve us.

Too often, we hold onto routines or traditions simply because "that's the way it's always been." But growth, both in leadership and in love, begins when we ask a better question:

Is this helping us become the people we want to be together?

In this essay, Gregory Allan Datu Cendana explores the value of reexamining the traditions and assumptions we inherit. It's a powerful reminder that the strongest leaders, and the strongest partners, aren't afraid to evolve. They honor what matters, let go of what doesn't, and intentionally create space for trustful belonging and growth.

Whether you're leading an organization or nurturing a relationship, this essay offers insights worth reflecting on.
