ASHRAE, founded in 1894, is a building technology society with more than 54,000 members worldwide. ican Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers by the merger in 1959 of American Society of Heating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHAE) founded in 1894 and The American Society of Refrigerating Engineers (ASRE) founded in 1904. ASHRAE Region XII was founded in in 1979 when it separated from Region IV. While several Chapters in Florida were members of similar organizations (ASRE & ASHAE) dating back to 1955. Puerto Rico Chapter was established in 1979 and the Region grew International with Brazil joining in 2002, followed by Argentina and Colombia most recently. Disclamer
