Wow, what a week it’s been. ⁣
⁣
On Monday I went to the Shift Conference and got to meet a few of the board members for the Atlanta chapter, as well as some local DEI leaders. ⁣
⁣
Tuesday was a HEAVY planning day for a DEI recruitment activation we’re designing for a client. Picture giant sticky notes, highlighters, and lots of caffeinated ☕️. ⁣
⁣
I had a few discovery calls on Wednesday, and Thursday I spoke on a panel about mentorship. Made some great connections and further immersed myself in the amazing Fe community. ⁣
⁣
Today I had my on-site interview with , which is the last step before receives it’s WBE and WOSB certifications 🥹. We’re already a certified MBE and federal contractor. Just one more until we’re fully certified after a year-long application process 🫠. ⁣
⁣
I’m wrapping up my week with a 90-minute deep tissue massage. Excited to rest and recharge this weekend in preparation of another busy week ahead!

A few years ago, my mentor posed the question to me "What do you want to be known for?"⁣
⁣
I fired off words like results-driven, strategic, and talented - but at the top of that list was the word "trustworthy." ⁣
⁣
I've recently noticed that my clients and prospects have made statements like "I trust you" and "I feel like I'm in good hands."⁣
⁣
This means EVERYTHING to me.⁣
⁣
As a Black female consultant who's a younger millennial, I've lost count of how many times I've been undermined by corporate leaders, despite my proven track record. ⁣
⁣
Walking into a room knowing that my expertise is valued makes all the difference in how I show up as a consultant. ⁣
⁣
I can focus on achieving outcomes for my client as opposed to wasting energy constantly trying to prove my worth.⁣
⁣
People may not always remember what you do, but they'll never forget how you make them feel. ⁣
⁣
If someone feels like they're in good hands when they engage my firm, that's one of the best compliments I could ever receive.

🌱 Freeing myself from all expectations (including my own) and allowing myself to just ‘be.’ ⁣
