🚀 MSP Summit — Day 2

Day 2 is in the books, and today definitely gave me a lot to think about.

We started the morning with conversations around AI, cybersecurity, predictive intelligence, and the future of managed services, but one of the biggest things I took away today was about GROWTH.

If VearaLink is going to get to the next level, I’m realizing that we don’t necessarily have to build everything one customer at a time. Strategic acquisitions may be one of the ways we accelerate our growth, expand our capabilities, and increase our reach.

That one definitely has the wheels turning. 💭

I also had some great conversations around voice and communications.

Most people who know me know that I’m a voice guy and a Cisco guy. Cisco has been a huge part of my career and helped build the engineering foundation I have today. But running an MSP requires me to look at things differently.

It’s not only about what technology I personally know and love. I have to look at what works for the customer AND what allows VearaLink to build a sustainable and profitable business.

I had the opportunity today to meet representatives from GreenLink and 4Voice, and I have to say, I really liked what I saw. There could be some great opportunities there for VearaLink as we continue growing our managed voice services.

Another great connection was with a gentleman from Georgia representing ImageIT. They have access to 400+ technicians throughout the United States, which could be a huge resource as VearaLink continues taking on projects outside of Georgia.

Sometimes one connection can open the door to an entirely new capability.

And of course, we had to mix a little fun in with all the business. 😂

I previously got to experience Zoox in Las Vegas, and tonight here in Orlando, I got to experience Waymo. The best part was being able to share the experience with my wife this time.

Sitting in the back seat while the vehicle drives around the city with nobody behind the wheel is still crazy to me! 🤯

After spending the day talking about AI and the future of technology, I guess there wasn’t a more appropriate way to end the evening.

Day 2 complete! Day 3 tomorrow. Still a lot more to learn, a lot more people to meet, and a lot more opportunities to explore.

🚀 Day 1 at the MSP Summit!

Today is all about learning, networking, and finding new ways to continue growing VearaLink.

I’m looking forward to connecting with other people in the MSP and technology industry, learning about new solutions, and seeing what we can bring back to better serve our customers.

One thing I’ve learned on this journey is that building a business means you can never stop learning. Technology keeps changing, the industry keeps changing, and we have to keep evolving with it.

Excited to see what comes out of the conversations and connections made here.

The next chapter of my story is one where I had freedom… maybe a little too much of it. 😂

After three years of military school, I went off to college.

For the first time in years, I didn’t have that military structure around me. I had freedom again — and I wasn’t necessarily prepared for it.

Some old habits came back, and my college experience at Virginia State didn’t go the way I had planned.

But that’s the interesting thing about life.

What feels like a setback while you’re going through it can sometimes send you in a completely different direction.

My journey eventually brought me to Atlanta, introduced me to the world of film and production, and brought people and experiences into my life that would help shape everything that came afterward.

Episode 2 gets a little more personal.

I was 15 years old when I left Aruba and came to the United States for military school.

I arrived after school had already started. There were hundreds of cadets marching around in uniform, and since I was the new guy and hadn’t been fitted for my uniforms yet, they put me in these bright gray sweats. 😂

So there was absolutely no hiding the fact that I was the new kid.

But the part I remember most wasn’t the uniform.

It was the moment my father told me:

“It’s time for me to go.”

He was heading back to Aruba, and before he left, he told me:

“This is your last chance to make something of yourself.”

That’s a heavy thing to hear at 15.

Looking back today, though, I understand the sacrifice my parents were making. And I can honestly say that sending me there was one of the best decisions they made for me.

Every journey has a beginning. Mine started in Aruba. 🇦🇼

A lot of people know me today through technology, my career, VearaLink, or just from different chapters of my life. But many may not know the full story of how I got here.

So I decided to tell it.

I’m launching a short podcast series called The Journey, where I’ll share some of the experiences, decisions, failures, sacrifices, and opportunities that shaped my life along the way.
