Video Brandon Tatum 🇺🇸 We said “Never Again” after the Holocaust then Hamas came for Israel. People online will deny The Holocaust ever occurred or drastically reduce the number of the dead, despite it being the most documented event in history by perpetrators, victims, and the Allies.

We said “Never Forget” after 9/11. We realized that history could easily repeat itself and we were already seeing it from the Holocaust. By the year’s 25th memorial anniversary of 9/11 there were people all over the world, but more importantly living in The US that believe the US deserved it, somehow orchestrated it, and want more of it.

After 10/7/2023 We said “Never Forget, Never Forgive”. Israelis and citizens of other countries were sexually brutalized, tortured, and murdered in the most horrific ways imaginable and 251 were taken as hostages. Those hostages were starved, beaten, sexually assaulted, psychologically abused and many died from the torture and starvation.

On September 10/2025 in front of a crowd at a Utah college, Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck.
What happened next was heartbreaking. Just like the Israelis who had been slaughtered including babies, people took to the internet to laugh, make jokes and songs.

People were shocked into the reality that we are in a war for our souls and for the planet’s very survival.

Israel decided with everything in them that “we will dance again” and Jews in the diaspora stood up and spoke out “we are no longer Jews on bended knees”.

Charlie’s death was meant to silence him, but as I sobbed for weeks over a man I barely knew of at the time and then watched a very long memorial followed by months of other colleges students who believe in open courteous dialogue I realize that he started A REVIVAL. Charlie loved Israel even as someone who was American first. He understood that a person could love the greater whole of a country and it’s people and take issue with one minute issue. This is why the breakdown in communication in our own country has become so detrimental. 🇺🇸🇮🇱

Something is happening on Pearl Street that Boulder’s Jewish community should know about.

On October 9, Trident Booksellers is hosting a conversation about the ADL, specifically its role in schools and on college campuses. It is entitled:

EDUCATION AS BATTLE TERRAIN:
THE ANTI-DEFAMATION LEAGUE IN SCHOOLS AND ON CAMPUS

Based on a book by Emmaia Gelman, entitled “The Anti-Defamation League and the Racial State” - which “presents the ADL’s history through its conflicts with social justice movements, illuminating the ADL’s outsize role in shaping the ideas about race.”

I called Trident today as President of the Jewish Alliance of Colorado. The manager was respectful and emphasized that Trident views this as a discussion about a book - not a event.

But there is important context that does not appear on the event page.

The featured author, Emmaia Gelman, has publicly stated in a 2023 webinar: “I’m Emmaia Gelman, I work with Drop the ADL.”

Why does that matter in Boulder?

Because just weeks ago, BVSD reached a settlement with a Jewish family and the ADL following a federal Title VI complaint alleging more than two years of antisemitic harassment of a Jewish student.

And this is the same Boulder community still living with what happened on Pearl Street on June 1, 2025. I was there. Some of my friends are still dealing with their injuries.

Trident has every right to host this conversation. Gelman has every right to criticize the ADL. And we have every right to make sure our community knows the full context.

Watch the reel. See the documentation. Hear what Trident told me. Then decide what you think.
