Amanda Nguyen is a social entrepreneur, civil rights activist and astronaut. She is the CEO and founder of Rise, a nonprofit organization working to protect the civil rights of sexual assault and r**e survivors. Amanda drafted the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Rights Act, a bill that passed unanimously through U.S. Congress in 2016. Rise has worked to guarantee the same protections in each state. It has successfully passed 91 laws over the last decade. Amanda has also been credited with kickstarting the movement to stop violence against Asian Americans after her video calling for media coverage went viral in February 2021. Amanda is currently undergoing astronaut training at NASA, fulfilling a lifelong dream. She will become the first Vietnamese woman to go to space when she flies with an all-women team on an upcoming Blue Origin launch on the New Shepard rocket scheduled for April 14. Onward and upward, Amanda. We are cheering you on.

Who doesn’t know AOC? Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been making quite a name for herself since she was sworn in 2019 as the youngest woman and Latina to ever serve in Congress (NY-14). She was reelected in 2020, 2022, and 2024. In her first term alone, the Congresswoman saw three amendments pass into law. One shifted $5 million from the failing war on drugs to opioid addiction treatment. Another secured $10 million to clean up toxic bombardment sites in Puerto Rico. She has also passed the largest investment to fight climate change ever - $369 billion! AOC has built a strong reputation as a formidable challenger in committee hearings. She has pressured a major pharmaceutical company into lowering the price of a drug that reduces HIV transmission and forced a defense contractor to return $16.1 million in federal funding. Cheers to AOC for her relentless courage to fight for climate change, affordable housing, better public education, greater healthcare, a peace economy, immigration, women’s rights and many other pertinent issues.

Sara is one of the most influential voices in immigrant rights. She’s a powerful activist, speaker, poet, and entrepreneur. She leads Population MIC, a company dedicated to disrupting the narrative around immigration and promoting the fight for reform in both media and politics. Through Population MIC, Sara amplifies marginalized voices, ensuring that the stories of undocumented communities are not only heard but respected. After the Trump administration ended DACA in 2018, Mora, a “dreamer”, herself, was one of the plaintiffs in a successful lawsuit against the presidential administration. Sara has partnered with major brands to push forward the narrative on migration, diversity, and inclusion. She was also named one of the top 10 Young Latinx leaders changing the world by Pop Sugar and Do Something. Join us in applauding Sara for her efforts to keep the dream for America alive.

Shannon Watts is a mother of five and the founder of Moms Demand Action. The day after the Sandy Hook tragedy (2012), Shannon started a Facebook group to say all Americans can and should do more to reduce gun violence. The online conversation turned into a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures against gun violence. Moms Demand Action is now the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country, with nearly 11 million supporters. She recently created Firestarter University, a yearlong program based on her upcoming book, Fired Up: How to Turn Your Spark into a Flame and Come Alive at Any Age. Fired Up will show women how to turn their sparks into a flame in the safety of a supportive community of other women ready to do the same. Kudos to Shannon for her leadership and inspiration to have others do the same.

Since entering office two years ago, State (Texas) Rep. Jasmine Crockett has made headlines for her spirited remarks and strong rebuttals at congressional hearings. The sole Black freshman and youngest Black lawmaker in Texas during the 87th Legislative Session, Crockett filed more bills than any of her freshmen colleagues, assembled a wide coalition to pass landmark criminal justice reforms in the House, and brought more accessibility and accountability to the office than ever before. A champion of voting rights, Crockett has also introduced bills that would create online and same-day voter registration, increase ballot drop boxes, codify drive-thru voting and allow voters who will turn 18 in time for the general election to be able to vote in the primary. We salute the Congresswoman for her courage to ask the tough questions and do the right thing.
