🏛️ MONTGOMERY IN MOTION: CITY LEADERSHIP MEETS THE COMMUNITY
A Community Town Hall | September 28, 2026 | Montgomery, Alabama
The message from the evening was clear: Montgomery works better when Montgomery gets involved.
Residents, community leaders, young people and City officials came together for Montgomery in Motion: A Community Town Hall, an evening focused on listening, asking questions, sharing information and strengthening communication between Montgomery citizens and their local government.
Hosted by District 4 Councilwoman Franetta Delayne Riley and featuring Mayor Steven L. Reed, the town hall provided residents with an opportunity to hear about City initiatives and speak directly about concerns, priorities and opportunities affecting their neighborhoods and the City of Montgomery.
Held at historic Beulah Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend T'Dera Jarman, the gathering demonstrated the importance of taking conversations about City government directly into the communities it serves.
🎤 A NIGHT OF COMMUNITY VOICES
One of the most important parts of the evening was hearing directly from Montgomery citizens.
Residents asked important questions, expressed concerns, shared ideas and engaged with City leadership about issues affecting their neighborhoods.
Every question represented something bigger: citizens willing to participate in the future of their community.
We extend a special THANK YOU to everyone who attended, listened, asked questions and took part in the conversation.
🎶 OUR YOUNG PEOPLE WERE PART OF THE EVENING
The Bellingrath Middle School Treble Makers Choir also participated, bringing the voices of Montgomery's next generation into an evening focused on the City's future.
Their presence was a reminder that today's conversations, decisions and investments will help shape the Montgomery that our young people inherit tomorrow.

West Montgomery holds an important place in the history and identity of the Capital City.
Its churches, schools, families, businesses and neighborhoods have helped shape generations of Montgomery residents.
Bringing this town hall into the community recognized that history while providing another opportunity to discuss the issues, progress and opportunities affecting residents today.
Montgomery in Motion was more than another meeting.
It was an opportunity to bring City leadership and citizens together for direct conversation and community participation.
🤝 FROM CITY HALL TO YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD
Montgomery is made up of many districts, neighborhoods and communities. Residents are encouraged to learn who represents them, attend City Council meetings, participate in neighborhood organizations, ask questions, share concerns and remain informed about City business.
Community town halls can provide another way for residents to participate and communicate directly with their elected representatives.
The goal is simple:
