Training Recap 9-21-26

Thank you Victory Church for providing a meal for our members. The meal was enjoyed by all and was much appreciated!

We are Happy to announce that firefighter Terry Davis has completed his one year probationary period! Terry has spent many hrs attending the different fire trainings over the past year and also recently successfully completed his EMR class. We truly appreciate the hard work and dedication given to our department and are grateful to have him as part of our team. Upon completion of his probationary period Terry was given the opportunity to choose his new fire number of choice. Last evening we presented Terry with his new shield number for his helmet!

Training Topic- Thermal Imaging camera (tics)
Last evening members from Atwood Fire Protection Dist. had a hands on training with the departments thermal imaging cameras. We are privileged to have three of these units! Members were trained on how to properly use them and what the different colors mean and discussed the many different scenarios that a thermal camera might be used for!

Saturday 9-19-26 Training update!
First we would like to give a Big THANK YOU to Maroa Fire Department for hosting this training, providing an Awesome facility to train at and for the lunch they provided! It was much appreciated!

Also a great Big Thanks to the instructors from Mid - County Cav Firemanship and Max Fire Box! Y'all did a terrific job of teaching.

Eight members from Atwood Fire Protection Dist. were privileged to attend this training. To say it was Awesome is probably an understatement! Tons of knowledge was shared on thermal layering, hose loads, water mapping, and hose advancement just to name a few! And we flowed tons of water!!!💦💦🧑‍🚒🚒 We are proud of our guys who continually give of their time to attend trainings like these that will greatly improve skills and knowledge!

9/11 - 25 years ago today. On September 11, 2001 nearly 3,000 lives were lost! Today we remember the victims, Honor the First Responders and Never forget! All gave some, some gave all!

Today our members at Atwood Fire Protection Dist. encourage each and everyone to take a moment to remember those that lost their lives on 9/11/01. We Thank God for the freedom we can enjoy today and we Never want to forget those that gave all!

It's almost pork chop time! Next week Friday and Saturday the volunteers with Atwood Fire Protection Dist. will again be selling pork chops at the Apple Dumpling festival! We appreciate all the community support in the past and want to say Thank you! Without your support our fundraiser would not be possible!

Our serving location will be at the corner of North Main and West Central Street! We again plan to offer pork chop sandwiches and or a pork chop on a stick! Drinks, chips and a cookie will also be available. Just FYI our pork chops are fresh, never frozen and grilled to perfection by our firemen! Thank you to Dutch Valley Meats Inc for supplying the pork chops! Stop by and see us! Our Firefighters look forward to serving you! Cash, check or card accepted.
