October is Cybersecurity Month!
Day 14: The "Hover-Before-You-Click" Rule: Inspect actual hyperlinks in emails BEFORE you click on them. If they aren't REALLY from Home Depot or Sephora or whoever -- it is a Scam. Delete. Delete. Delete.

October is Cybersecurity Month!
Day 13: Let's talk scams. Phishing is a term used for fake emails, sent to you to look "official".
So far this month, "phishers" asked me to quote Thousands of $$ of toner to a real company that we've never done business with before -- Fake.
Been asked to renew my Webroot antivirus -- we use VIPRE AV -- so Fake.
Been asked to renew our McAfee antivirus -- Fake.
Been asked to contribute to a charity that doesn't really exist -- Fake.
Be wary. Look who sent it to you.

October is Cybersecurity Month:
Day 12: Beware of Malicious Browser Extensions. What's a browser extension? It's a small bit of software that runs INSIDE your web browser.
Go to the 3 dots on the upper right of either Chrome or Edge. Navigate to Extensions. See what you have there & delete suspicious ones.
You don't need a Recipe browser extension, or a Weather extension.
If you have questions, call us. But when in doubt about extensions, just delete.

Day 9: Let's talk Automation for Data Backup. You, my friend, are the weak link in backing up your data. You are.
So AUTOMATE your backup, either with built-in Windows Backup, or a 3rd party program, and/or an online backup service.
If you need help, well, ... we are your boys. Call us & let's get "backuping" (just made that word up).
