I am officially a Certified Fundraising Professional (CFRE)! 🥹🎉 I’ve been working towards this certification for a while and wanting to do it for many years.

This certification is important to me because 1) investing in personal growth and development is important and, 2) it’s not so much about validating my 15 years of experience as it is joining a global community of individuals dedicate to ethical fundraising. Upholding the standards of ethics put forth by Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP Global) and CFRE International for the best interest of donors and organizations is something I have always taken seriously as a nonprofit professional and a consultant.

Here’s to trust, honesty, and integrity in fundraising, and doing our utmost for the organizations and fearless leaders who do so much for us! Happy Friday all!

Hi there to all connections here on ! I’d like to share an introduction on yours truly so you can get to know me a little better.

I’m Deidre, owner of , a small business based in Auburn () that helps small nonprofits become more strategic with their fundraising efforts to save time, stress, and raise more money!

I believe small nonprofits are the lifeblood of our community and it is my privilege to work with leaders who work so hard to create positive change. Here are a few other fun facts about me:

🎩 I spent over 10 years working directly for small nonprofits prior to becoming a consultant in 2020. I mastered the true art of wearing many hats during that time!

🏕 I love hiking with my dogs, biking, paddle boarding, and simply enjoying the beauty of the Sierras and foothills with my husband and son as much as possible.

☕ I used to own a coffee roasting company as a side business. What can I say, I love coffee like a and I love running a business! Probably thanks to growing up in my parent’s small, local business.

📢 I mayyyy have used a gong and/or blow horn in the past to excitedly announce fundraising victories to staff....they loved it (no, really!). While I take my job seriously, I seriously like to infuse my work with fun. Fundraising CAN be fun. People always joke about how ‘no one likes to do fundraising’ but I do!

It is my mission to help small nonprofit leaders find the joy and satisfaction in fundraising and to provide meaningful, impactful services that truly help organizations grow and thrive.

Fundraising IS fun my friends! Proof is in the picture: On the slopes with my amazing client, Achieve Tahoe, who has been building health, confidence, and independence in people with disabilities through outdoor recreation (like skiing) for over 50 years!

The best thing about my job is that I get to see the great work that is being done by hardworking nonprofit professionals who really care.
