Today at 13:17 Aurelius Firefighters were called to assist Union Springs at a structure fire. Upon arrival, during search and suppression, several animals were discovered. Pictured are fire fighter DiSanto and firefighter EMT Burtless using pet oxygen masks attempting to revive some of the animals. All units were back in service at 16:58.

‼️ Tornado Warning for the red polygon which includes Northwestern Seneca County and Northwestern Cayuga County
* Until 900 PM EDT.
* At 818 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Phelps, or near Geneva, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near... Seneca Falls and Waterloo around 825 PM EDT. Cayuga and Lehigh Vallley Junction around 835 PM EDT. Canoga around 840 PM EDT. Union Springs around 845 PM EDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.

This cluster of thunderstorms is capable of producing tornadoes and widespread significant wind damage. Do not wait to see or hear the tornado. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

Heavy rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

This evening at 20:04, firefighters were called to a motor vehicle vs bicycle accident. Units arrived at 20:07. The patient was transported by ACA. Units are still assisting NYSP with lights and traffic control for their investigation! Rescue 2, Engine 1, Squad 1, and Duty Chief responded.
Update: All units back in service at 00:02.

This morning at 3:14, firefighters were requested RIC to Scipio for a barn fire with exposures. Engine 1 with 5 interior and a driver responded, as well as the Duty Chief. Upon arrival we were assigned suppression and a second RIC unit was called. Back in quarters at 6:58.

Big thanks to Empire Golf Cars for loaning us two golf carts today! Our members truly appreciated having them.
