While we’re back home layering up and battling freezing temps, Andy Booker has been roaming the Kenyan plains, surrounded by lions, zebras, giraffes, and his next of kin, the wildebeest.

Andy has spent the last several weeks in Kenya, continuing work he’s pioneered over the past decade, helping manage and support multiple charter schools that serve local communities and expand access to education.

We’re excited to welcome him home (hopefully with some warmer weather in tow), and proud to be part of a team that believes building and serving communities goes far beyond the jobsite.

This photo, taken around 1878, shows Douglas Avenue in Wichita, looking west near Emporia and Douglas. The Land Office in the foreground, Healy and Niederlander Real Estate, sat at the center of early growth, with local businesses like the Cincinnati Bakery lining the street. Dirt roads, false front buildings, and people gathering where opportunity was being built in real time.

It was taken years after Kansas became a state, but the mindset feels familiar. Kansas has always been about showing up, building forward, and figuring it out as you go.
