On May 19, Augusta voters will have a chance to decide on a one-cent sales tax, paid by residents and visitors alike, that funds critical infrastructure, public safety improvements, and quality-of-life enhancements all without raising property taxes.
This proposed tax, known as SPLOST 9, strengthens Augusta’s economic future. Thousands of new jobs, major industry recruitment, and land will be unlocked for development through the planned sewer expansion in South Augusta.
Investments in parks, recreation facilities, and community spaces will create safe, modern places for families to gather, stay active, and enjoy all that Augusta has to offer.
Law enforcement will receive reliable, modern vehicles to improve response times and reduce maintenance costs. A new Joint Operations Center will strengthen coordination across public safety agencies, while investments in fire equipment and a modern fire station will help firefighters respond quickly and safely to emergencies.
Early Voting Ends May 15th. https://www.splost9.com/
