Women who EmpowHER don’t just open doors. They hold them open for someone else ✨

I am beyond honored to join the North Augusta Chamber of Commerce Women in Business: EmpowHER Summit as this year’s keynote speaker.

I’m praying about what to share because this conversation is personal to me—not just as a small business owner and Veteran but as a woman who believes deeply in the power of relationships, community, and using our voices to help others move forward.

We’ll talk about what it means to EmpowHER —how our experiences, relationships, and influence can become opportunities for another woman to grow, lead, and step into what’s next.

And—the best part I’m even more excited about is we’ll be celebrating a woman whose leadership embodies that spirit with the presentation of the 2026 EmpowHER Award.

Come ready to connect.
Come ready to be encouraged.
Leave ready to empower.

If you want to understand what’s possible you have to be in the room ✨

I had the opportunity to attend the inaugural Georgia BlackPrint: The Prosperity Convening in Macon hosted by the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus and Georgia Coalition of Black Chambers.

There was a LOT to take in but two conversations stayed with me: the state of education and HBCU funding and the conversation about moving “From Policy to Practice.”

The education conversation challenged me to think beyond funding as a number on a spreadsheet. Funding decisions shape institutions, opportunities, the communities those institutions serve, and ultimately workforce development.

What I heard in these conversations reinforced something I see in my very own work: we spend a lot of time identifying problems. That is only the beginning of the work. The harder—and more important—work is building the trust, relationships, capacity, and accountability to do something about it.

One phrase captured so much of what I throughout the caucus:

“Collaboration is the new currency.”

That resonated with me because I see the same thing in organizations every day. Whether I’m working with leaders navigating workplace challenges, helping teams address conflict, or facilitating conversations around organizational culture, sustainable change rarely happens in isolation.

It happens when people are willing to listen, build trust, collaborate and move from knowing to doing.

And perhaps that is the bigger takeaway I’m carrying with me from BlackPrint:

Policy matters. But—implementation is where people experience it.

Grateful to have been in the room, to listen, to learn, and to be reminded that meaningful change requires all of us to be willing to do more than talk about what needs to change.

We’ll do well when we better understand we have to build it together 💯

Labor Day is a good reminder that behind every organization, business, and community are people doing the work ✨

We all look forward to the long weekend. Many of us putting our leave in weeks and months in advance. As leaders we talk a lot about performance, productivity, and results. But results don't happen without people. I just want to remind us Labor Day isn't just about a day off.

It's about recognizing the people who make things happen.

The ones who show up.
Figure it out.
Keep going.
Do the work nobody sees.
And sometimes carry more than anyone realizes🙋🏾‍♀️

Let's thank ourselves and the ones who keep showing when the work isn't easy.

This Labor Day show a little appreciation not just for the day off—but the people who we depend on to make work happen.

Happy Labor Day!🚩

We’re less than one week away!✨

We just wrapped up our speaker run-through with my incredible colleagues who will be sharing the stage with me at AdvanceHR 2026 hosted by NAAAHR - Atlanta Chapter.

Its not just another HR conference.

One afternoon. Four sessions. Four very different conversations about how we show up, lead, navigate, and advance the work of HR:

HR as a Business Driver with Kim Blue
Raising Your Conflict Capacity with me, TeKay Brown
Positioning Over Applying with Justin Thomas
Unbothered & Undeniable with Katherine Dunn

I’m especially excited to bring Raising Your Conflict Capacity to this room because I believe HR has to move beyond simply being the place where workplace problems get sent and become a place where organizations build leaders that are actually capable of navigating tension, having hard conversations, and addressing issues before they become expensive problems.

And—judging by the plans what's in store from my colleagues its going to be a good one.

Most conflict starts where communication breaks down.

Its usually not the disagreement or the argument.

It's the conversation that didn't happen.
The expectation that wasn't clear.
The assumption nobody stopped to question.
A misunderstanding that nobody bothered to clear up.

And by the time people call it “conflict,” it’s rarely the first problem.

Because people don't always stop communicating all at once.

Too often we wait until there are signs of a problem to start paying attention to what's been happening all along.

Signs people stop asking questions.
Stop offering opinions.
Stop raising concerns.
And eventually, start talking about the problem everywhere except with whom it should actually be addressed.

Healthy communication isn't just about people speaking you.

It’s about creating enough trust for people to tell you what’s really going on.

What a phenomenal conversation! 🔥

Yesterday’s HR Reset session at GCHR was all the way live!

The engagement, the questions, the conversations, the feedback—it was clear that HR professionals are navigating some BIG challenges right now when it comes to compliance, culture, workforce dynamics, and conflict.

And honestly? We could have used another 20–30 minutes! 🤪

The feedback was incredibly positive, and one of the things that stood out most was hearing people throughout the conference say they were recommending the session to others.

That meant a lot.

This year, we only had the opportunity to do one session—but based on the response, I think there’s definitely more conversation to have.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, participated, asked questions, shared their experiences, and helped make the conversation what it was.

The HR Reset isn’t just about policies and compliance.
It’s about people, relationships, leadership, and what happens when we address the real issues instead of working around them.

Thank you, GCHR, for the platform and the HR community for showing up!

Better Teams. Better Relationships. Better Performance.

We’re here! 👋🏽

Brownstone Mediation Services is LIVE at GCHR: The HR Reset — Rekindle Connection, Reform Culture.

And we’re excited to be part of the conversation happening right now around the future of HR, workplace culture, and employee relationships.

If you’re at GCHR come see us at Booth 33!

Let’s talk about the workplace issues that don’t always have an easy checkbox:

* Difficult conversations
* Employee conflict
* Leadership challenges
* Team dysfunction
* Workplace relationships that need a reset

Sometimes the HR reset starts with a conversation✨
