Congrats to Metea Valley’s Leadership Award in Student Journalism recipients!

National Scholastic Press Association, the nation’s largest association for scholastic journalists, has named approximately 1,500 high-school journalists as recipients of its Leadership Award in Student Journalism.

To earn the NSPA Leadership Award in Student Journalism, a high school student must serve with distinction for at least two years on the staff of an NSPA-member broadcast, literary arts magazine, newspaper/newsmagazine, specialty magazine, website or yearbook by the end of the current school year.

After years of representing our school with pride, Marty the Mustang will be retiring from mascot duties. We thank Marty for his years of spirited service and dedication to our community.

A new mascot will be introduced to carry forward our school spirit and energize the next generation of students. Stay tuned for the unveiling and join us in welcoming the next chapter of Mustang pride!

With heavy hearts, we sadly announce that Marty the Mustang has passed away due to a documented decline in school spirit.

Once a symbol of pride and unity, Marty’s absence reflects a broader need for renewed energy, engagement, and Mustang pride within the community. Let this serve as a call to restore the spirit that defines us.
