Ahhh, tequila. The reason for nights you can’t remember and days you wish you could forget. But we Americans love our tequila and in more recent years, we’re falling in love with agave spirits, too! In fact, we have a love so deep for tequila that we are responsible for approximately 90% of Mexico’s tequila export. Just like bourbon consumption began growing in popularity back in the late ’80’s and early’90’s, tequila is gaining in popularity now.

When it comes to hand selecting barrels, our family is quite particular. With this in mind, each barrel of Western Reserve Distillers 14 Year Family Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon is hand selected by our family with no less than 14 years of age after being left undisturbed in a deep-charred American white oak barrel.

We believe that there is something almost magical that happens to bourbon after spending decades in a barrel. Colors and flavors develop that simply can not be tasted in younger aged whiskies. Flavors that begin in the nose, then the palate and end with a warming eect in your chest that slowly presents itself after that second or third sip.

In the fall of 2019 we were honored to have been awarded a Double Gold and the title as the best bourbon over 10 years of age in the Cigar & Spirits World Spirits competition. Second place that year went to one of our all time favorites, Pappy Van Winkle 15 Year.
