This June I turned 40 and celebrated with a trip to Las Vegas. ❤️🌵 It got me thinking of lessons I’ve learned about life and as a 10-year business owner.

👉🏽 One lesson stands out related to personal branding …

It’s that most of us know exactly who we are when we’re children. Then the world beats it out of us. So we have to struggle to find our way back to ourselves.

⚡ If you’re looking for clues to your authentic personal brand, look no further than the things that excited and impassioned you as a kid.

⭐ What did you dream of?

For example, I knew before the age of 10 that I was drawn to a creative career. 🌎🎨 I wanted to be my own boss, teach something, be of service to others, travel the world and have wildly interesting friends. Luckily, I’ve been able to check all of the boxes.

Today, creativity, individualism and wanderlust are embedded in the fabric of my personal brand. The other elements of my childhood self are woven in neatly, as well.

There are lots of new faces here so I thought I’d reintroduce myself. I’m Monica V. Reynolds. I live in Austin, TX, and have been a Digital Marketer & Web Designer since 2005. Back then, I was making homemade jewelry at my kitchen table and trying to sell it on Etsy when it was still in beta version. 💍💻⁠

I would stay up until 2 a.m. tinkering with WordPress websites and trying all of the online marketing strategies to see what worked.⁠

📣 In 2012, I started my first online marketing business, which specialized in content development and email campaigns.⁠

Then, in 2014, I started my second marketing business, Vox Pop Marketing, which offers Web Design, Lead Funnels & Marketing Campaigns. 🌪️ That business is still in operation serving small businesses across the U.S. ⁠
