Spring decluttering doesn’t have to feel overwhelming.

Most people try to take on too much at once, and it’s why the process often stalls before anything is finished.

The shift is simple. Start smaller than you think.

Most pantries don’t fail because of clutter.
They fail because of the wrong systems.

Function always comes first, but it should still feel beautiful.

This pantry originally had fabric-lined bins that made it harder to see what was inside and more difficult to maintain day to day.

We transitioned to wipeable, structured containers and open systems so everything is visible, accessible, and easy to keep in place.

I get asked a lot about decanting and whether it’s actually necessary.

The answer is… it depends.

Decanting can be incredibly helpful when it improves visibility, creates consistency, and makes everyday ingredients easier to access. Clear containers make it much easier to see what you have on hand and what might be running low, which makes building a shopping list simple instead of opening and checking multiple packages.

But not everything needs to be decanted. Sometimes the original packaging works just fine.

The goal isn’t to transfer every item into a container. It’s to create systems that make your kitchen easier to use and easier to maintain.

When decanting serves a purpose, we do it.
When it doesn’t, we keep things simple.

That’s the difference between organizing for aesthetics and organizing for real life 🖤
