It’s been a great month of getting out and connecting with our TCA member organizations across Texas! 🤝

TCA had a great time joining American Subcontractors Association - North Texas Chapter for its annual Clay Shoot, bringing together subcontractors and construction professionals for a day of friendly competition, connection, and support for the industry. TCA Vice President of Operations Patrick Finnegan was on hand raising money for the TCA PAC while also educating subcontractors and attendees about why PAC support matters. These efforts help give the construction industry a stronger voice on the issues impacting contractors and subcontractors across Texas. We’re especially proud to share that this year’s Clay Shoot raised more for the TCA PAC than ever before at this event! Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make it such a successful day. 🎯

We also enjoyed seeing Central Texas Subcontractors Association (CTSA) bring an important workforce conversation to Austin with Where Will Your Next Hire Come From? at Dirdie Birdie. The event brought together representatives from CIEF: Construction Industry Education Foundation, Education Service Center Region 13, Texas State Technical College (TSTC), and Austin Community College District to talk about the programs, training, and career pathways helping connect the next generation with opportunities in construction. And, of course, a little indoor mini golf made for a fun way to keep the conversations going!

Thank you to ASA North Texas and CTSA for bringing our industry together through events that educate, connect, and support the construction community.

Connect with TCA and our member organizations at https://www.texcon.org/texcon/Member_Associations.asp to stay involved and see what’s coming up across Texas. 🌟

This month, we're proud to recognize longtime TCA supporter and former TCA lobbyist Clint Hackney, whose career in public service and advocacy has spanned decades.

Clint's career has taken him from Texas A&M and service in the U.S. Army 🇺🇸 to practicing law and eventually the Texas Legislature. At just 28 years old, he was elected to the Texas House of Representatives, where he served Northwest Houston for eight years and chaired both the House Elections Committee and House Energy Committee.

That background later made Clint a valuable advocate for TCA. For many years, he served as our lobbyist at the Texas Capitol, representing the interests of contractors and helping ensure the construction industry had a voice in the legislative process. Although Clint retired a couple of years ago, we remain grateful for the many years he spent supporting TCA and our members 👏.

Thank you, Clint, for the time, experience, and dedication you've given to TCA and our industry.
