We're shining a spotlight on Dennis Bevans, who serves as Treasurer on the TCA Board! 🌟

Dennis became involved with TCA through his service with the Texas Glass Association, where he currently serves on the board. After becoming more involved in industry leadership, he was asked to represent TGA within TCA and has been serving on the TCA Board for the past year. With a background in accounting, Dennis was a natural fit for the Treasurer role when the opportunity came along.

Dennis is passionate about issues impacting trade contractors across Texas, particularly EMR usage and retainage reform. He believes that many of the challenges facing the construction industry affect trade contractors in similar ways, and that bringing those voices together helps create a stronger voice for positive change. He also values the opportunity to better understand the work happening behind the scenes to support the industry.

Outside of TCA, Dennis serves as Chief Executive of Anchor-Ventana Glass, a full service residential and commercial glass company that has been serving customers for more than 45 years and has completed over 500,000 projects. 🏗️

With the 2026 Texas Primary Runoff Elections now complete, the slate of candidates for the November General Election is officially set.

Republicans continue to hold every statewide office and maintain strong majorities in both the Texas House and Senate. As the election season moves forward, attention will turn to whether increased Democratic enthusiasm and a challenging national political environment lead to shifts at the ballot box, or whether Texas' long-standing voting patterns and Republican advantages remain in place. 🗳️

While November is still months away, these races will help shape the conversations and policy decisions that impact Texans and Texas businesses. As always, TCA's Austin team is closely monitoring developments and keeping members informed on the issues and elections that matter to our industry. 👀

Congratulations to Texas Lathing and Plastering Contractors Association (TLPCA) contractor and TCA member Galindo & Boyd Wall Systems 🎉

On receiving EIMA’s 2025 Project of the Year award at the EIFS Architectural Awards for their work on Villas on 24th in Austin, Texas.

This impressive 30 story residential tower near the University of Texas features nearly 500 prefabricated EIFS panels and more than 100 unique geometric designs that create a bold and dynamic look across the building’s exterior. The project reflects the innovation, craftsmanship, and collaboration that went into bringing this standout design to life.

TCA was proud to support HB 120 during the 89th Legislative Session, legislation aimed at strengthening and expanding career and technical education opportunities for Texas students 📘. The bill broadens access to dual credit programs, technical education pathways, and career advising while providing significant funding to help schools expand these opportunities.

Creating more pathways for students to explore careers and technical training is an important part of building Texas’ future workforce. A strong construction industry starts with investing in the next generation of skilled workers. 🏗️

American Subcontractors Association - North Texas Chapter will host Awards Night: Operation Blueprint on June 4 at the Westin Southlake, celebrating the achievements, leadership, and impact of members across the chapter. It’s set to be a great evening of recognition, connection, and celebration.

Painting Contractors Association - PCA Dallas Fort Worth is bringing members together for its June Happy Hour on June 18, offering a fun opportunity to network and connect with fellow industry professionals.

TSSI-Texas Clay Shoot Fundraiser takes place June 26, with proceeds benefiting an endowment to TSTC for welding students and helping support the future workforce of the industry.

American Subcontractors Association of Austin, Texas has a full month ahead, starting with its June 3 GC Panel at Central Machine Works featuring candid conversations with leading general contractors on today’s construction landscape and trade partner expectations. The chapter will also host its June Coffee Social on June 30 for a relaxed morning of networking and connection ☕️

American Subcontractors Association - San Antonio will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of ASA On the Bay on June 26–27, bringing members together for a fun fishing tournament while also supporting coastal fish hatchery restocking efforts 🎣

From industry discussions to networking events, it’s been a busy few weeks across the TCA network! 🚧

TCA was proud to sponsor the 2026 TCCRI Policy Forum at the JW Marriott Austin. The event featured keynote speaker Scott Jennings along with discussions focused on Texas policy, economic growth, and the future of the state’s business climate.

TCA member, ASA Austin, hosted its Member Appreciation Crawfish Boil at Chalmers Austin, bringing together subcontractors, general contractors, and industry partners for a fun evening of crawfish, games, networking, and great conversation. 🦞

TCA also participated as an exhibitor at the Austin Build Expo at the Palmer Events Center. The event brought together thousands of construction professionals and featured exhibitors, educational sessions, and opportunities to connect around the future of the building industry.

We’re shining a spotlight on Brian Shahan, who currently serves as Secretary on the TCA Board! ⭐

Brian first became involved with TCA through his leadership with the Paint Contractors Association in the Dallas Fort Worth area. After learning more about TCA’s mission and advocacy efforts on behalf of subcontractors across Texas, he jumped at the opportunity to serve.

Brian was elected Treasurer in February 2025 before stepping into the role of Secretary earlier this year. He shared that serving on the Board has been a valuable opportunity to learn from talented industry leaders while continuing to support subcontractors across Texas.

One of Brian’s goals is to participate in TCA’s Walk on the Capitol in 2027 and meet directly with legislators to discuss issues important to the construction industry. He also believes one of TCA’s biggest opportunities is continuing to grow awareness about the organization and helping more people across the industry understand its mission and impact. One of the most rewarding parts of serving with TCA for Brian has been the relationships built along the way and the chance to learn from others throughout the industry. 🤝

Outside of TCA, Brian serves as President of Shahan & Son Painting Ltd., a third-generation commercial painting company founded in 1946 and known for its long-standing commitment to quality and customer service. 🏗️
