If you’re in the Cincinnati area, you absolutely need to check out Galactic Fried Chicken!
Located at 624 6th Ave. Dayton, KY, owner Shane Coffey and his amazing team are knocking it out of the park!

Before even trying the food, I immediately loved their branding and their overall image when I followed them on Instagram. Walking in was even better. Their diner-centric atmosphere is blended with everything “galactic”, including space themed posters and pop culture icons like a life-size door cover of Han Solo frozen in carbonite!

The staff goes to “infinity and beyond”, truly hospitable people providing excellent customer service, they make sure that you don’t want for anything while you’re in their place. Their hashtag is embodied in their approach and the treatment you receive as soon as you walk through the door.

Shane and Chef Trey McNeal helped my family navigate the menu and everything was incredible. You must start out with their fried pickles, which are seasoned uniquely and flawlessly, and they were so good we had to get a second order for the table. I opted for Shane’s favorite, the 4-leg meal, which comes with crinkle cut fries. The chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Everything is fried to order so it’s fresh and piping hot when it gets to your table. Addable to everything is their secret recipe Galactic Sauce. You’re gonna want to take a bottle home with you.

Did I mention that everything is gluten free? WHAT?!?!
Shane’s recipe is gluten free, which has been bringing in customers from all over who deal with Celiac Disease or choose a gluten free diet.

I could go on for a long time about how much I enjoyed my experience at Galactic Fried Chicken, but this is a post so I’ll reel it in and leave you with this: I can’t wait to go back.

Wow! It’s taken me the whole 4 months since they’ve opened (sorry) to visit the new location on Barton Springs Road, and I’ve been missing out!

I tend to haunt the east side so I’ve been to their original location on Cesar Chavez & Chicon many times for breakfast tacos (do that), but finally made it to their new location and was blasted with perfection!

Trying to keep it short, the staff was the friendliest I’ve encountered in a while, parking is easy, atmosphere is perfect and the food is beyond craveable!

My thoughts on the food:
Burger is solid. You don’t have to know me too well to know that I judge a place on their cheeseburger.
I not only loved it but highly encourage you to get one for yourself soon. Wayne’s way is skip the mustard.
Here’s why I’m in love with their onion rings: 90% of the time you bite into one and the whole stinking onion comes pulling out. If you fry it just right, that won’t happen, and that’s how Lou’s does it. Bravo!!!
If you don’t already know, a secret menu item is the Green Chile Queso Fries. If you don’t get anything else, make sure you get these!

Get yourself to the Barton Springs Lou’s location and have a fantastic time.

Also, walkable from Barton Springs Pool!
If you’re planning to attend ACL, include a visit to Lou’s, they’re right there!

I can’t wait to get back and keep exploring their menu!
