“I utilized Nikki’s services for several weeks after the birth of my third baby. It was the best decision I made for myself and my family. With it being my third baby, I wasn’t sure what to expect as I was an experienced Mom and had more knowledge, but having Nikki was truly life saving.

Nikki helped with meal shopping, planning, and preparing. She also helped with folding and putting away my kids’ laundry, which relieved me of SO MUCH and still provided my family with healthy meals and some continuity to our routines.

Anytime I encountered any challenges with my baby (feeding, gas, sleep etc) Nikki would troubleshoot with me and share her incredible insight and great ideas. I wish I had leveraged Nikki after my first, what an incredible resource she would have been back then when I had no knowledge. I cannot recommend Nikki enough no matter how many babies you have had! It was also so nice to have an adult around to have discussions with.”

It was a joy to work with you, and I loved getting to cook for your family! Thank you for letting me join in on this fun and exciting new phase of life 🥰. And as a fellow mom, the adult conversation is one of the best parts of the job!

“Nikki was an incredibly nurturing leader for our postpartum group. She held the space so beautifully for us and facilitated a group where we all felt so comfortable sharing our struggles and wins each week. I looked forward to our group with my newborn because the space was so sacred and Nikki was such a helpful listener. She always came prepared with resources to support us in our postpartum journeys as well as share from her own experiences in motherhood. Any mother would be lucky to know Nikki let alone have her as postpartum support.”

🤍How to Make a Momma Feel Seen🤍:

This is a little story from my own life. My family and I moved over the summer, and with that move my two kids took turns getting sick in June. We had just moved into our new house and had NO furniture for over a week. One of my girls was so weak and sick and the other was as healthy as a horse, but bored out of her mind. It was hot as satan’s breath out and the only option was the pool. So we really couldn’t do that with a sick kid. As I was a nurse to my kid on her air mattress, I thought to myself, “I wish more than anything that I could at least go do our laundry at someone else’s house, but I don’t want to get anyone sick.”

The next day, I got a text from a friend who had already helped us feel welcome by letting us borrow a couple of mattresses, bedding, and kitchen items. She asked if there was anything I needed and I presented to her my dilemma. She offered to come pick up and drop off my laundry and even insisted on finding out what laundry detergent I used so she could go buy some at the store. I tried to not tell her as to not be too much of a bother. She told me she was stubborn and that I might as well just tell her. Also, she asked for our Chick-Fil-A order so she could drop us off lunch. 🎤⬇️.

YES. You are reading this correctly. And you are seeing pictured how she delivered our clothes back to us. She even bought the fabric softener! You might have guessed that I owe her big and will love her forever after this.

This is how we make our fellow moms feel seen. Meet them in their struggle and go the extra mile, even when they feel uncomfortable needing help.

Thank you SO much for what you did that day I won’t forget!! You brightened our furniture-free, sick kid world that day and made me feel so loved in my motherhood journey!

So good to keep these differences in perspective. When you’ve just had a baby, the list on the left is an understandable response to the drastic hormonal shifts you are going through.
Spontaneous crying for no reason at all can be unsettling, especially if you weren’t really a crier before. Keep in mind that literally everything about your life, body, and mind has changed in a short window of time. You will adjust, just not right away.

But if the list on the right is sounding more like you, and you have been suffering for more than 2 weeks, the right help can make you feel so much better!! You’re not alone, and this is more common than we realize. It doesn’t mean you aren’t cut out to be a mom. It DOES mean that you know you don’t feel like yourself, and you need support now more than ever. There is hope 🤍.
