I've been sharpening shears for 9 years. I know there isn't a single sharpener in Texas that can sharpen shears at my level. Every time I go out a get work I have clients that try another sharpener then I have to fix their work and the client has lost a lot of the life of their shears. Your shears are only as good as your last sharpener.

Oil your blades after disinfecting them. Spray on disinfectants are not lubricants.

I will be restoring one of my Hoshi Shears 9 inch Pisces. They were mangled by a sharpener that is opening a shop to service groomers. This single sharpening took about half of the shears life. I will recover the ride lines and convex the edge. It is frustrating seeing my brand of shears get butchered by bad sharpeners.
