This is what a “radical liberal” looks like.

I’m a 45 year old mother of two boys. I run a small business, focused on companies that care, and I drive a mom car that fits 8 kids so that I can watch every ball game and make sure every kid get’s where they are going.

I LOVE America! I love everything I grew up to believe it stood for! Freedom, Democracy, Mixing of cultures, due process, equal rights, Opportunity...

I grew up poor. I was homeless many times and my parents worked hard to put food in front of us. My father taught me that if I worked hard, I could be anything I wanted to be, so I put myself through college. I was able to do it with no financial help from family, but from working 3 jobs at at time, earning scholarships, and from government grants, and student loans. I was so proud to pay off those student loans that were subsidized and backed by the US Government.

I believe that I have earned my success through extremely hard work, with the help of wonderful people, and also through the systems that our government put into place to help people live the American Dream.

Our systems will never be perfect but I believe strongly that we can all work together to continue to make this world a better place for our children.

I believe that there are amazingly beautiful and good people in every political party and that if we get to know one another instead of pushing each other away, we will find a path to a more peaceful and balanced America...The America that I LOVE.

Let's Talk.....about politics, religion, money, business, education, s*x, health and healthcare, kids, family, you name it!

Let's talk about all of those things and remain friends and family! Let's make it a point to come to each conversation with an open mind and willingness to hear and to learn. We may not have our minds changed but we may have our hearts filled with love instead of anger and division.

Let's not put humans into buckets of other.
We all have different lived experiences that lead us down different paths and form different opinions.

We all want our businesses, our careers, and our families to thrive - So let's talk. 💗☕

I posted this on Facebook earlier this week and the idea was floated for me to start a show called "Pots & Politics: A True Taste of America"
The concept would be to invite a guest into my home/kitchen who would bring with them a recipe that is special to them. We get to know their background a bit then dive into a hot topic while cooking together. Guests will come from all sorts of backgrounds with an array of opinions :) The only thing we will promise to agree on is a civil conversation.

January of 2024 I decided I was going to have a year of ease!
🤔😳😆
I placed that intention after a few exceptionally tough years combined with the realization that my entire life had been spent fighting a bear that didn't really exist. What do I mean by that? I was in fight or flight 100% of the time. This is not an exaggeration. Some of my most frightening panic attacks happened in the middle of the night.

I realized that achieving this intention meant not just changing a few habits, but changing my physiology and body chemistry. It literally required me to be present with every decision and action.

I'd love to know how you think I did before I continue. :)

I did pretty well, thank goodness. (trigger alert) I truly believe that if I didn't, I would have killed myself. Maybe not with the typical tools, but with work, alcohol, over achieving, and over expectation.

My relentless drive had served me well for many years. It propelled me from homelessness to business leadership (read Anywhere, USA for the full story). It got me a great house and an amazing family. It also got me severe body pain, debilitating panic attacks, little time with my children and spouse, and a divorce. I fought my way to "the top" and then jumped off of the cliff.

Free fall is exhilarating at first...and then it's terrifying.

So why am I telling you all of this? Because I'm literally an open book, and because I've discovered a few tricks along the way.

I believe most of my journey of struggle has set me up with tools and strength to raise two boys to become caring, amazing men. I also believe that I am meant to share my struggles, tools and strength so that we can all rise together. So that we can achieve ease and success together.

January of 2025 I decided I was going to have a year of brilliance!

I am not BE brilliant but my light can be.

My delay in writing this post (spoiler alert, it is now April) is that something unimaginably tragic happened to people I love with all of my heart and I was very much tested. I used my tools and I continue to use them daily so that I can show up with ease AND brilliance.
