Austin Auction Gallery was founded in 1983 and is one the premier Antique and Fine art auction houses in the Southwest. Since its inception, our gallery has conducted more than 1600 auctions for state and federal institutions, business liquidations, foreclosure auctions, and hundreds of estate auctions for family members, executors and trustees.

They finally met. Now they just need a room.

Lot 3190 is a life-size bronze of Monet at his easel, sculpted in 2008 by American artist Gary Lee Price after a family trip to Monet's garden studio in Giverny. It comes in three pieces and it’s number 1 of 40. Lot 3206 is a late 1800s French writing desk carrying the plaque of Henry Dasson's Paris workshop, with bronze edges, a gold-stamped writing surface, and a candelabra on each side.

Let’s talk about this piano!

It’s an Érard with bronze on every edge, burl wood, cherubs holding up the legs, and painted scenes ALL over it. Finished in a lacquer technique the French developed themselves, it was built up coat after coat until it all sat under the surface like it was under glass, and almost none of it was made by a machine.

And there's more where that came from. From Versailles to the Southwest runs three days and 1,589 lots, and the piano is only one of them.

In Renaissance Florence, the bed was the commission. Families ordered one when a couple married and had it carved with whatever they wanted that marriage to be. Abundance, protection, a feast. This one’s nineteenth century, made by somebody who wanted that tradition centuries after the fact.

Some pieces you appraise, this one, you can read. And it’s part of our Summer Signature Estates & European Antiques Auction!

This monumental English oak sideboard, late 19th to early 20th century, carries three carved back panels depicting scenes from Lord Byron's Gothic poem "Lara," each with its stanza inscribed alongside the carving, after the 1879 engravings by Charles Bell Birch. And it doesn't stop there: allegorical maidens flank the outer cabinets, busts of British prime ministers stand between the doors, and a carved Green Man forms the pull on the center drawer.

At nearly eight feet wide and over seven feet tall, it's the kind of piece that anchors a room and rewards a second, third, and fourth look. This one you'll want to see in person before you bid!

Fifty years on the Italian Riviera, hanging in the same villa, is a rare thing to find intact.

Every glass flower was shaped by hand while the piece was still hot, which is why no two blooms on it match, and why no two chandeliers like it exist anywhere else!
