The preservation of Austin's history is critical to understanding how downtown and the city have grown and changed over the years. The Austin History Center keeps track of information on businesses, residents, neighborhoods, institutions and more so that future generations are able to access Austin’s past.

The Austin History Center is at 800 Guadalupe, inside the Faulk building. Their mission is to procure, preserve, present and provide the historical records that make up Austin's unique story.

This month, Google filled its landmark building - the Sail Tower with employee workspaces and a tech hub for local nonprofits. This free community space is set aside to host board meetings, workshops, classes and events. Removing the cost barrier to meeting downtown means more access, more connection and more community.
