Snell Law attorneys Jason Snell and Lance Cawthon recently helped secure injunctive relief in statewide Texas h**p litigation challenging newly adopted h**p regulations.

The litigation team obtained both a Temporary Restraining Order and a Temporary Injunction in Travis County District Court, halting enforcement of key portions of the challenged regulations while the case proceeds toward trial.

The Court found that Plaintiffs established a probable right to recovery on claims involving ultra vires agency action, violations of the Texas Constitution, and violations of the Texas Administrative Procedure Act.

Jeff represents individuals and businesses in a broad range of civil
and commercial litigation matters, including claims involving
negligence, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, DTPA violations, and whistleblower complaints. His background includes both legislative experience and years of litigation practice in the Austin area.

Snell Law recently secured a six-figure jury verdict in a defamation case tried in the 345th District Court of Travis County.

The jury awarded our client $115,000 after finding that false statements published by a business competitor were defamatory and damaging to the client’s professional reputation. The jury also
awarded $500,000 in punitive damages, but because only 11 of the 12 jurors agreed, that award will not be included in the final judgment.

The case was tried by Jason Snell and Lynn Watson, who successfully excluded the defendant’s expert witnesses and presented compelling evidence to the jury.

This verdict reflects an important principle. The truth matters, and defamatory conduct carries real consequences.

We are proud of the result and grateful to the jury for its careful
consideration of the evidence.
