June marks National Safety Month. For nearly 30 years, the National Safety Council has used this month to raise awareness of the leading causes of preventable injuries and fatalities, reminding us that safety extends beyond the workplace and into every part of our lives. This year's theme begins with Moving Safety Forward, encouraging organizations to strengthen their safety culture through proactive action and continuous improvement.

At JMJ, we've learned that lasting safety improvements don't come from rules alone.

They come from leaders who create trust, teams who look out for one another, and cultures where people feel empowered to speak up, learn and take action.

When safety becomes personal, it becomes powerful.

As we begin National Safety Month, let's continue creating workplaces where everyone goes home safe, every day.

Respect is the key theme of Construction Safety Week’s Thursday focus, and one of the three core pillars of "All In Together."

In construction, respect goes beyond how we treat one another. It’s about how we approach the work itself. Respecting the plan means taking the time to follow established processes, speak up during planning, and stay alert as conditions change on the jobsite. When we cut corners, stay silent, or fail to reassess, we increase the risk of serious injuries.

In construction, more than 53 workers out of every 100,000 die by su***de—the second-highest rate across all industries. One in five construction workers also experiences anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenges.

This Construction Safety Week, let’s remember: safety includes mental well-being too. A simple conversation or moment of support can make a difference. You’re not alone.

At the recent AFPM Annual Meeting, one thing stood out. Disruption isn’t temporary anymore.

- Supply-side instability is rising
- Workforce return can’t be assumed
- Restarting operations is a growing capability gap

What’s making the difference?
How well leadership, culture and operations align under pressure. Troy Pierce's takeaways explore what this means in practice. https://hubs.la/Q04d_d-P0

How are you approaching restart and workforce stability right now?

Marked by the International Labour Organization World Day for Safety and Health at Work highlights the importance of preventing injuries, illness, and loss of life at work.

This year’s focus on psychosocial health is a reminder that safety isn’t only physical. It’s also about workload, pressure, and the environments people work in every day.

Behind it all are the individuals who notice, speak up, and look out for each other.

Supporting wellbeing through conflict and uncertainty.

Many people across the Middle East are dealing with the unexpected conflict and ongoing uncertainty. For many, this is impacting how they are feeling, their ability to focus and their energy levels.

We're sharing a practical resource developed by Dr Emma Hepburn, together with JMJ's Sandy Schreiber, which offers simple guidance to support mental health and manage stress during times like this.

Key points to remember:
• Individual responses to current events will differ - there is no right or wrong way
• Connection and small check-ins matter
• Prioritizing self-care helps calm the nervous system

We hope this offers something useful for you or your team. https://hubs.la/Q049bsCK0
