I ordered the ZLINE 621-30 range hood twice. Both times the unit arrived with the same packaging-related electrical cord issue and missing critical installation parts.
Packaging problem (documented on video I am saving and photos I will share here)
ZLINE packs the power cord by just tucking it into the open duct opening at the top of the hood with no protection and no protective plug cover. This creates pressure on the unprotected electrical cord as it will then sit against the outer sharp ducting outer edge which goes against the box packaging.
With the first unit ordered, the cord was sliced completely through — when I plugged it in after a basic continuity check, sparks came out of the cut. (Video will be attached)
I have clear photos of the sliced insulation.
On the second unit (which I recorded while unboxing and have saved), the same packing method is visible: the unprotected cord is forced into the duct area, creating pressure points. That unit arrived with a deep indent in the exact same location on the cord and a broken strain-relief piece at the entry point. The video shows exactly how the cord is positioned with zero padding or shielding.
This is a design/packaging flaw, not shipping damage. A simple protective cover on the plug itself and proper protective foam or something around the cord would prevent it.
Missing parts on both shipments
Both units were missing:
• Mounting bracket
• Mounting bracket screws
• Baffle filter
• Baffle filter spacer
• Grease tunnel
Without the mounting bracket and hardware the hood cannot be installed. Without the baffle filter and grease tunnel it cannot function safely.

-Customer service
While on the phone ZLINE was unable to open a case number. They later emailed requesting a photo of the data sticker and other information I had already provided, but have not replied to my follow-up questions (including where the sticker is located and whether replacement parts are available). Communication has been one-directional so far.
-Other notes
No cabinet cut-out template is included (not a deal-breaker, but an omission). Home Depot’s product page also lists the incorrect duct diameter.
I will have to order again. Home Depot has handled the returns reasonably under the 90-day window. I had planned to purchase additional ZLINE products for other properties and leave positive feedback.
After two incomplete units with the same packaging-related cord damage and limited support response, that plan is on hold until these quality-control and packaging issues are addressed.
-Please protect the power cord properly and include every part required for installation and safe operation. Until then, I cannot recommend this model or company.

Ideally, I was hoping to get more items from zline and also submit reviews online about them for my other properties.

Subject: Public Comment: Deny Sailfish Permit Appeal – Agenda Item #1 (Sept 8th Meeting)

To the Honorable Hood County Judge and Commissioners Court,

I am writing as a concerned Hood County resident regarding Agenda Item #1 on the agenda for Tuesday, September 8th, at 9:00 AM.

I strongly urge the Commissioners Court to deny the appeal filed by Sailfish regarding their on-site permit denial based on the following key points:

Lack of an Approved Site Development Plan: Sailfish does not currently have an approved Site Development Plan. Utilizing an on-site permit as a shortcut to bypass mandatory site development requirements undermines county guidelines and standard regulatory oversight.

Unverified Power and Water Self-Provision: Sailfish has failed to present any evidence demonstrating that it has applied for, or received approval through, the government-required audit process to self-provide its own power and water utilities.

Disregarding State and County Directives: Just last week, this Court voted unanimously to follow the Governor’s directive halting data center developments pending a Public Utility Commission (PUC) audit. Sailfish and Panther have not provided evidence of a successful PUC audit. Approving these permits would directly contradict both the State and County directives.

Improper Agenda Bundling: Projects Lion and Panther do not have approved concept plans and were filed under a separate LLC. They should not be bundled with Comanche Circle without a new concept plan.

This sudden and unexpected move has left many workers in a state of confusion and worry, with some even stuck in traffic on their way to work as Tesla turns them away. Approximately 15-30k employees projected to be layed off.
