12th Street Sound

12th Street Sound High-end recording studio Built in the shell of an old church, 12th Street Sound is a high-end recording studio located near downtown Austin.

The church’s new interior was designed by internationally-known studio architect Wes Lachot, and features a spacious live room, multiple isolation booths, and a control room that is comfortable and acoustically accurate. The console is a 64-input SSL 9000J – the only SSL 9000 in central Texas. The credenza is loaded with both time-tested outboard classics as well as gear from select contemporary m

anufacturers. Recording formats include Pro Tools HDX and a pristine Studer A827 analog tape machine. House engineer Kevin Szymanski has two decades of experience working in Nashville and Los Angeles with platinum-selling artists from a variety of musical genres. Only a mile from the state Capitol, the studio resides in Austin’s eclectic and resurgent East side. The neighborhood is also home to numerous restaurants, coffee shops, and live music venues.
