"Best for commercial printers building enterprise marketing portals."

That's how Marq described Propago in its 2026 roundup of web-to-print software for brand control.

We're glad to be included, and the label is accurate. Propago is software for the printers who serve enterprise brands. We don't print, warehouse or ship anything ourselves. We build the platform that commercial printers, in-plants and fulfillment providers run their client programs on.

The review called out the parts our customers lean on most:

β†’ A branded portal for a client's full marketing catalog: print, promo, apparel and digital files
β†’ Multi-level approvals, spend controls and user-tier access
β†’ Warehouse tools for inventory, kitting and fulfillment

And their take on why it matters: the portal "lets printers move beyond commodity print ordering into a strategic role."

That's the whole idea.

"We're already evaluating a DAM."

If you pitch storefronts to enterprise marketing teams, you've heard this one. It sounds like a no. Often it means you're talking to the right buyer about the wrong category.

A DAM answers one question: where are our approved files, and who is allowed to use them?

Marketing asset management answers the next one: how do those files become finished, on-brand materials in the hands of 300 locations? Personalized, approved, printed, kitted, shipped and tracked.

Most enterprise marketing teams need both. Plenty are shopping for the first when their real pain is the second. Think of the regional manager who needs four emails to get a co-branded flyer, or last year's brochure still being reordered from an old PDF.

When you can tell a prospect which problem they're actually describing, you stop competing with the DAM vendor and start filling the gap it leaves.

We wrote a plain-English breakdown of DAM vs. MAM for print and marketing solution providers: https://propago.com/marketing-asset-management/marketing-asset-management-mam-vs-dam/

Between now and January, your clients are going to ask you for things that aren't print jobs.

Year-end client gifts. Holiday packs for every branch. New-hire boxes for the January start class. Sales kickoff kits for every rep.

Each one is a kit: printed pieces, branded merch, maybe apparel in the right size, assembled and shipped to a list of addresses.

Printers who handle kitting well turn the seasonal rush into a recurring service clients don't want to move. Printers who run it on spreadsheets turn it into overtime.

The difference is mostly the system underneath:

β†’ The kit is one orderable item in the client's storefront, with every component tracked in inventory
β†’ Pick lists are generated for the warehouse team, so assembly isn't guesswork
β†’ Component stock drops as kits ship, with alerts before something runs out
β†’ One order can go to many addresses without re-keying

Propago is the software printers and fulfillment providers use to run that workflow. Your warehouse, your team, your client relationship.

Our kitting guide covers the kit types printers deliver most and how to set them up: https://propago.com/fulfillment/kitting-bundling/

Q4 is when your clients' marketing leaders sit down with finance and try to explain where the print budget went.

If that answer lives in a stack of invoices and an inbox, it's a hard meeting for them. It's also an easy opening for a competitor promising "better visibility."

If the answer is a report they can pull themselves, broken out by location, cost center, product and user, you become part of how they plan next year.

A few reports worth setting up for your storefront clients before budget season:

β€’ Order volume and spend by location or department
β€’ Most- and least-ordered items (the second list is where obsolete inventory hides)
β€’ Inventory on hand compared with usage
β€’ Shipping cost by destination

In Propago you can schedule any of these to land in your client's inbox automatically. There are 40+ standard reports, each fully customizable, plus 70+ dashboard widgets.

The printer who brings data to the budget conversation rarely ends up defending the contract.

Your client has 200 real estate agents. Each one needs a "Just Listed" flyer with their own photo, listing details and contact info, and they all need it this week.

The press isn't the bottleneck. It almost never is.

The bottleneck is upstream: 200 emails with attachments, 200 rounds of "can you swap the photo," and 200 proofs someone has to check against brand standards before anything gets printed.

Variable data only scales when the workflow does:

β†’ Locked templates, so logos, colors and legal copy can't be changed
β†’ Editable fields, so each agent fills in only what's theirs
β†’ A live proof, so approval happens before the job ever reaches you
β†’ Orders that arrive print-ready instead of as a conversation

That's the difference between VDP as something you mention in sales meetings and VDP as a steady revenue line. Your clients already have the data and you already have the equipment. What usually needs work is the template and ordering layer in between.

We broke down what that template architecture looks like: https://propago.com/webtoprint/variable-data-printing/

A week back from PRINTING United, and the conversations at Booth N6351 are still the most useful part of the trip.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, whether you came with a specific client problem to talk through or just wanted to see what running a B2B storefront looks like from the printer's side.

If we started a conversation and didn't get to finish it, or you meant to come by and the show floor had other plans, we can pick it up from here.

We'll walk through storefronts, approval workflows, inventory and reporting using one of your real client accounts as the example. That tends to be a lot more useful than a generic tour.

Creating a cohesive brand experience across all marketing assets can be a game-changer for your organization. One key strategy is to leverage the customization capabilities of your marketing catalog. By allowing employees to personalize items like print materials, promotional items, and apparel, you empower them to create assets that truly reflect the brand's voice and values. This not only enhances brand consistency but also fosters a sense of ownership and pride among team members.

Imagine the impact of a well-branded event where every piece of collateral, from brochures to banners, resonates with your audience. By utilizing a centralized marketing hub, you can ensure that all assets adhere to established brand guidelines, reducing inconsistencies and enhancing overall effectiveness.

How are you currently ensuring brand consistency across your marketing materials? Share your thoughts below!

Fragmented procurement processes frequently hide the true cost of your marketing collateral. Every time an employee spends time sourcing vendors, manually approving proofs, or chasing inventory status, your organization loses valuable productivity. By consolidating your print, promo, and apparel ordering into a single, intelligent hub, you effectively eliminate these hidden administrative overheads. When your marketing catalog is accessible from any device and governed by pre-set business rules, you reclaim hours of lost time and ensure that every order aligns with your brand standards. Is your current supply chain setup driving efficiency or just creating more administrative work for your team? πŸš€

Personalization at scale is frequently misunderstood as a purely creative endeavor, yet the true secret lies in the underlying logic of your asset management system. By implementing robust business rules, you move beyond simple customization and toward intelligent brand governance. When your platform automatically restricts color palettes, logo placement, and material selection based on user role or geography, you eliminate the risk of off-brand collateral while maintaining speed. This shift allows your team to focus on strategic initiatives rather than repetitive design approvals. How are you currently automating your compliance checks to ensure every piece of marketing collateral stays perfectly aligned with your brand standards? πŸš€

In our case studies from four Propago customers, one theme keeps showing up.

The printers who got the most out of the platform were the ones whose systems actually talked to each other.

Their web-to-print platform connected to their MIS. Their fulfillment systems. Their ERP. When that happens, orders flow, errors drop, and your team stops spending half their day re-entering data between disconnected tools.

Integration isn't a technical detail β€” it's a competitive advantage that compounds over time.

Our free Guide Vol. 5 walks through 5 steps to get your integration strategy right from the start.
