A garage door company in Dallas-Fort Worth came to us because the local map pack for their area was full of listings for businesses that were pure spam. So we did what everybody does and ran a sweep for removal. About 500 were removed within 30 days. Pretty good eh?

We kept going every month, and over the following year that came to 1,200+ listings in one metro, roughly 100 a month.

Results: 3X calls and #1 positioning.

Why monthly? Spam returns; it is not expensive for a bad actor to spin up lead gen GBP's.

Sweep a metro once and it comes back inside a few months, because removing a listing doesn't remove the entity making them. So the one-time audit is basically the part that doesn't work.

My advice is pretty simple. Keep at it on a regular basis. It is whack-a-mole, yes, but worth it. (even with low removal rates)
