I thought I would share the story of the beginning as I finally open the door after thirty years to the possibility of clients that are not referrals. It feels like a new beginning. I know you already voted but one more time might get me in the top three which will be announced in June. I started doing readings for money in January 1994. One day, unexpectedly, someone I didn’t know called me and said, “I heard you do readings”. I replied, “Oh, I only do them for friends.” She then said she would pay me. I said, “Okay.” The whole thing made me uncomfortable. I mean, if I take money, maybe I would lose the gift. I had been practicing on friends for the last four years, but not once did it occur to me that I should charge. It was something I loved doing and I could never imagined that it could be a source of income. With some reluctance, I did that reading and felt okay about it. Thought it was a one and done kind of thing. It was not. The same week I got another phone call asking about doing a reading. My response was the same. She said, “I’ll pay you.” She had no connection to the other person that I had just seen. WAIT… maybe this is the universe trying to tell me something. And so it had begun.
That first year, I had a client that had a holistic center. She asked me to teach intuition there. I told her, “You understand I have only done this for a year right? I couldn’t possibly teach it.” She insisted. Thirty years later with all the amazing things I do in my life, teaching intuition and doing readings, makes me the happiest. 99% of my clients have always been referrals. I love that because when people come in, they know how I work. When I started, I would look at Tarot cards and get messages. I never learned Tarot, I would just hear messages. Around ten years ago, I realized I was no longer looking at the cards, so…I stopped using them. Now, I just ask my clients why they are here. Then we start talking. My entire communication is intuitive, I am just repeating what I hear. My clients get all their concerns answered and I never remember any of it. I have settled into working that way and I like it. Once again, thank you for your vote. New clients that could never have found me otherwise, might be on the horizon. I can’t wait.
