I had a drink with an accountant in May and asked the question everyone asks:
“How bad was tax season this year?”
I expected to hear about long nights, stress, and surviving another busy season.
Instead, he said:
“Honestly, I don’t really get stressed.”
That caught me off guard.
Every accountant I’ve ever met talks about March, April, and May like it’s a war zone.
His explanation was simple:
“My team is so dialed in that I don’t have a busy season. They do.”
That’s the difference between owning a business and being owned by one.
The goal isn’t to work harder every year.
The goal is to build systems, develop people, and create a business that can perform without requiring your constant involvement.
If an accountant can make it through tax season without feeling overwhelmed, imagine what’s possible in your business.
The right systems don’t just create efficiency.
They create freedom.
