Our Education Coordinator, Kimberly Klima explored what motivates people to refer in this week’s education moment, drawing from BNI Podcast #981, “The Psychology of Why People Refer.”

People make recommendations because they care about others and want to help. Those people might be friends, family, colleagues, neighbors, or someone they’ve just met.
𝗜 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂. 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲. 𝗜 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽.
Connecting someone with a professional we trust puts that care into action. We want them to have a good experience, and we’re putting our own credibility behind the introduction.

There’s a personal reward, too! Hearing “Thank you, that was exactly what I needed!” brings satisfaction. We helped someone, strengthened a connection, and gave them another reason to trust us.

That’s what we build around our table, and our October 15 Dynamic Results BNI Chapter meeting gave us plenty of examples! ☕

𝗔𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘆 𝗝𝗿. of 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀, last week's speaker, delivered our Purpose & Overview, reminding us that our relationships extend beyond business and even beyond chapter membership. Passing business brings us together. Showing up for each other makes those relationships last.

𝗞𝗶𝗺 𝗞𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮, our education coordinator, explored what motivates people to refer, drawing from BNI Podcast #981, “The Psychology of Why People Refer.” We want to help the people we care about, connect them with someone we trust, and enjoy knowing we made a difference.

💣 𝗘𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗔𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗸𝘀𝗲𝗻 passed the BOMB Award to 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 of 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗲’𝘀 𝗪𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗩𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀. Shalon used her 60-second commercial to show how invaluable our chapter’s resources and relationships were during her 2nd Annual Vet Fest last weekend. From hands-on help to last-minute insurance needs, her experience with our members illustrated what happens when our people come together.

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗸𝘆 of 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 was our featured presenter.

𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗟𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗼 of 𝗘𝘆𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 joined us, too! The daughter of Jen Llado, Bella helps customers navigate their next move and recently made a big move of her own: getting married! That means a name change is coming, and Neil Spike might have an estate-planning conversation for the newlyweds. Now that’s a connection before breakfast! 😉

☀️ A little perspective to take into the week.

To close our meetings Dynamic Results BNI Chapter in-house quote master, Sherry Schattschneider, shares a bit of positivity each week.

💬 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗵𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁?

“To be honest with you…” might be one of them!

Our Education Coordinator, Kimberly Klima, explored that phrase in this week’s education moment, drawing from BNI Podcast #979, “A Better Word Than Honesty,” featuring Dr. Ivan Misner and guest Jim Meadows.

If honesty is already our default, why announce it? The phrase can unintentionally leave someone wondering what we were being before!

𝗧𝗿𝘆 “𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿” 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱.

The takeaway is to be aware of our own words. Clear language helps us say what we mean and build trust in our everyday conversations.

We welcomed guest George Ruppel of Liability Assessment Consultants, a recently retired Avon Police sergeant invited by Ryan Pojmann. George helps businesses see where liabilities in their businesses and properties are and puts together resolutions to protect the business, the employees and the public better!

George also shared Holiday with Hometown Heroes, which supports Lorain County children and families through breakfast, holiday shopping, and connections with local law enforcement.
