Solar Installation Technician Job Description

REAL Solar is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Solar Installation Technician to join our team! We are a solar design-build company headquartered along Hwy 371 in Backus, MN.

This role will be to work with a team to install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on roofs or on the ground of homes and businesses.

The ideal candidate will be able to learn and adapt quickly and will have a passion for learning basic energy system construction, terminology, and concepts. This position is an hourly role that requires working outside in sometimes extreme environments, working at heights, and prolonged periods of repetitious duties including lifting, bending, and standing.

Job Responsibilities:

Configure, install, inspect, and maintain solar PV systems for customers.
Read and execute plan sets.
Follow building standards, safety codes, and manufacturer specifications.
Label, install, and terminate electrical wiring.
Manage time and tasks effectively with a sense of urgency.
Provide an exceptional customer experience to all customers.
Other tasks as assigned.
Job Qualifications:

Knowledge of electrical systems and solar-powered equipment preferred but not required.
Experience in roof work, general construction, or carpentry preferred.
Ability to operate equipment like a skid-steer or forklift is preferred
Ability to safely handle power tools, hand tools as well as materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Excellent attendance is essential for the team to achieve success.
Travel is mandatory and will vary dependent on business needs. Employees must be able to occasionally travel for up to four days at a time.
Current DOT Physical is required to drive company vehicles.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work at heights, must be able to work in extreme environments, must be able to perform prolonged periods of repetitious duties, and must be able to lift at least 50 pounds frequently.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Competitive and based on experience

Schedule: Monday to Thursday

Work Location: Headquarters in Backus, MN
