Canada is experiencing wildfires, and with the wind coming out of the Northwest, Michigan is getting a little taste of what it's like to be in Canada right now. In order to help protect the health of our employees, D&W has made the decision to close temporarily while we wait for the wildfire smoke to clear.

Scrappy (yes that's our dinos official name) gets visitors quite a bit. But it's not everyday that we get a visitor who shares a slice of pizza with him AND on one of the coldest days of the year. Thanks for paying Scrappy a visit ...I'm sure it made his day!! 😀🦖

A snowstorm is trying to blanket the thumb-- it seemed like a perfect time to post our holiday hours for both Christmas and the New Year (before time gets away from us and we forget!).

I'm always in awe when I see something cool and nature-y that pops up amongst all the steel while at work. I think its the juxtaposition between nature and man-made that really strikes me. When I happen to have my phone on me, I try to take a picture (although it somehow never truly does it justice). I snapped a pretty cool one not too long ago...

Fast forward to today: Each month Thumb Electric (TEC) hosts a photo contest for its customers. D&W is a TEC customer--so for the first time, I've decided to submit a photo I took (on behalf of D&W) to the Thumb Electric Michigan County Lines Photo Contest.

I've captioned it "A Little Scrapyard Shimmer"
