Link Computer Corporation hosted another great event this year at the LinkUp Expo Technology Conference at the Blair County Convention Center in Altoona, PA.
This was our 2nd year in attendance and this time not only did we have a booth inside with some demo equipment but we also unveiled our M&P Mobile Surveillance Unit (M&P MSU) HMMWV!
A big thank you to Link Computer for hosting such a great event, we can't wait for next year.
We will have more information coming out very soon with more details about the HMMWV project, but here is a quick FAQ:
Q: Why do you have a HMWMV?
A: Why don't you have one? So actually about 10 years ago, owners Jason and Patrick wrote "M&P HMMWV" on a white board while brainstorming about the business. We knew it would be cool, but didn't really know why we needed one. Fast forward to 2025 and we found this one for sale and decided to pull the trigger. Not only is it cool, but it's also a great platform to showcase some of our capabilities and technology.
Q: So what does it do?
A: The MSU has a telescoping mast on the back bumper that hangs a few advanced cameras and a speaker/siren unit. In the trunk we have an inverter and lithium battery for power. Solar panels are installed on the roof help maintain the battery. For connectivity, we have a StarLink Mini installed. We also added 4 cameras around the body of the HMMWV that are tied into our interior screen for driving assistance (backup camera, front bumper camera, and a blind spot camera on each side). These camera feeds are also fed through the surveillance side so we can monitor and record these cameras as well.
Setup time is less than 10 minutes, so we can be parked an operational in no time at all.
Q: What is the purpose?
A: The purpose here is two-fold. 1: We will be taking this to events like this one (trade shows, expos, etc.) to show what advanced camera hardware and software are capable of, and 2: We can offer this unit as a public service anytime there is an event that is happening that needs additional security. Video feeds can be provided to local law enforcement and/or event organizers.
Q: I have an event coming up and we can really use extra security, how can I get in touch?
A: Contact us at 412-945-0280, by email at [email protected], or through our website at https://www.mpsecuritysolutions.com/contact-sales
Q: I want to know more!
A: Stay tuned, we'll be releasing more details and capabilities in the next few weeks!
Lastly, thank you to Axis Communications for your help!
