It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Baker Printing’s founder, Mrs. Martha Bishop Furr, on July 30, 2026.
Miss Martha and her husband Jack Bishop started Baker Printing in 1962, and upon her husband’s passing in 1983 she continued to run the business. After she retired in 1994, her sons continued running the business. She may have retired, but she came back often to check on us, and we all made sure to get a hug when she did.
Miss Martha was blessed with a large family including 6 children, Andy (Dawn), Ricky (Karen), Tim (Debbie), Spencer (LuAnn), Martie (John), Myra (Michael), 4 stepchildren Lana (Cary), Douglas (Betty), Tommy (Susan), and Roger; 55 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Baker Printing has always been a family business with all of her children working here at one time or another. She always made us feel like we were part of her extended family. She was not only the family Matriarch she was our Matriarch too. We will miss her dearly.
Baker Printing will be closed Wednesday, August 5, in respect for Martha Bishop Furr.
